I'm not sure there were any fences to mend. Zendejas seemed to committed to Mexico. Only the lack of real WC consideration from Mexico (and the permanence of it all) kept him from making a switch.
Antalyaspor's match has been cancelled today due to a terrorist attack in Istanbul. İstiklal Caddesi'nde meydana gelen patlama sonrasında TFF Yönetim Kurulu yaptığı değerlendirme sonucunda, Vodafone Park'ta bu akşam saat 20.00'de oynanması gereken Beşiktaş - Fraport TAV Antalyaspor karşılaşmasını ileri bir tarihe ertelemiştir. pic.twitter.com/lgPn4sJuwC— TFF (@TFF_Org) November 13, 2022

Very interesting. Calm, really well-spoken and quite reflective, he's obviously not your usual athlete, which goes a long way to explaining his teenage difficulties in making the jump to pro level. Who knows where the soccer gods will take him, but I'd be optimistic about his off-the-pitch future.
Haji is 2nd in the same league to Enner in scoring...so it makes the Turkish League look good if the Turkish league players do well in the WC.....
Sebas Mendez was outstanding for Ecuador today as he dominated the midfield. He was sold by Orlando in July for $300k in GAM to LAFC where he was Kellyn Acosta’s backup…
Haji Wright scores at the World Cup. I would have never seen that coming. [emoji2962][emoji2962][emoji2962]

He needs to leave the Turkish league. He needs to move to a league where he has to be sharper with his mvoement and more decisivie with his touches in the box. Right now he can just score video game goals in the Turkish league. It's up to him though. A decent amount of luck on the goal but good run and good skill and creativty to attempt it. His hold up play in the WC was also decent.
🇺🇸🔴⚪️ Dünya Kupası organizasyonlarında gol atan ilk Antalyasporlu futbolcu olan ve 2022 FIFA Dünya Kupası'nda takımıyla son 16 turu oynama başarısı gösteren futbolcumuz @HajiWright'ı tebrik eder, milli forma altında başarılarının devamını dileriz.#FraportTAVAntalyaspor pic.twitter.com/slIUx2mlDa— Bitexen Antalyaspor (@Antalyaspor) December 3, 2022 This is pretty cool. First player in their history to score a world cup goal
Needs to work even harder to put up 20 league goals or so and get himself a move to a top 5 league next summer.
I don't think it's the league that's the issue. He's likely to finish his development as a very limited player, with a few compelling strengths. He wasn't and isn't an international caliber player and likely won't be, but lucked out in that none of our forwards are really international caliber. Once the development of US forwards catches up with D and mid, he'll be buried in the depth chart. If he's doing well here and getting paid, he should stay. If he exceeds this level, he should leave. He's still largely on the "doing well" side of it for me, and a move to Holland/Portugal/France/Championship won't do that much to change his game.
Don't think a 'limited' player scores the variety of goals as he has in the Turkish league. Just needs to acquire that extra level of sharpness/acumen (not technical skills) that are needed to be consistent at the higher levels. And of course, the main reason he should move is to get paid. He has a WC goal and some decent WC tape. If he continues scoring for fun in the Turkish league and has a few more good national team appearances he will get that move.
Yep, no idea how he'll perform in a more challenging environment, but Beerholder (and his own league play) just shipped the kid a decent raise, which is nice.
He is not quick. He may be fast in a long sprint but his reactions look quite a bit too slow for top teams. And that donkey touch when he was through the Dutch defense!
Extremely. It made me wonder if Gregg's choice between Pefok and Haji literally came down team chemistry: Pefok barely knows these guys while Pulisic and Haji used to be, "...the duo back in the day..." according to Pulisic.
