He is just a living breathing reminder of hoddle's stupidity in letting rebrov and ferdinand go for nothing without getting a replacement, aside from the fact that he sucks.

Doherty is a crap striker, as a defender he has potential, but not enough to warrant us keeping him if we get a good offer. It's like the Luke Young situation, he's promising, but he's dispensible.
Naaah, Hoddle has a thing about players who are better than him. He wants to be remembered as the best Spurs player ever so he doesn't sign anyone great. Conspiracy theory! (Even though he isn't.)
