now that they got rid of on of the strikers. I wonder if their was a clause in the deal that DC would not select Aleko first. ( I would not put it past MLS to do this)

    Just a thought

    Why WOULDN'T DC pick Eskandarian?

Their biggest need is at forward, and he's the best forward in the draft. Sounds like a fit to me.

I'm not arguing that DC shouldn't pick up Alecko, but in answer to your question, maybe they wouldn't because they're already too young as a team?

I don't have any particular insight on this, but if I was Ray Hudson, I think I would be trying to get a proven goal-scorer rather than a prospect. That's not to say that I wouldn't take Eskandarian if it were my decision, but I would have to consider all options--including the option of trading the Eskandarian pick to bring in a veteran striker.

With Moreno gone, DC needs someone who can score now rather than later. Maybe Diego Serna would be a good fit? :D He produced for Hudson in Florida and has been worthless for everyone else.

    What does DC do?

With the added cap room, a Wolff to DC trade for the number one pick seems like a possibility.

    Good point Charlie.
DC Scum is in no position to take gambles on their forward position players. In contrast, right now the Metros have Mathis and Moreno and wouldn't be risking anything by taking Eskandarian as a prospect.

It's possible, but if the Metros really cut this deal then they should have done it above board. Meaning, we should have swapped our #2 pick with DC's #1 pick as part of this mega-trade package. But that wasn't part of the deal. Would have been nice, however.

maybe we should've taken their eye teeth while we're at it. 3 proven MLS players for a A - league player and a int allocation sounds like we got a good enough deal as it is. what DC makes of their pick remains to be seen. eskandarian(SIC) would be nice and maybe we'll get him but lets not be greedy

I couldn't have said it better myself NY. Although Petke would be an A-League all-star.
