I don't know. Just to make sure we don't offend the Muslims, I would remove the crescent moon and star from the soccer balls as well. In fact, I would remove the crosses too. Because, isn't Jesus considered by Muslims to be also a prophet? Lets just put a picture of Bush on the soccer balls. Then everybody will be happy.
since you are such a tough guy, why don't you go to your counsil and tell them off for being pathetic loosers instead of painting a vastly distorted image of muslims from the safety of an internet forum?!
Not a bad idea, but his mouth forms a crescent when he smirks (which is constant). Back to the drawing board.
Ooops, yeah. Somebody's been busy reading The Daily Mail again confusing tabloid xenophobia and jingoism with reality.
Obviously these faux Muslim outrages extend well beyond sacred text on soccer balls. I take it you missed the post on the outrage over Burger King ice cream. And just today the Washington Post refused to post a cartoon that might offend Muslim sensibilities. Do you really believe Christians would bother with this nonsense? Outraged Muslims are constantly defiling symbols of the west and nobody gives a shite.
The Saudi’s can have any sacred symbol they want. They can have any phrase that they hold dear. It is my right to take that phrase, put it on anything I own and kick the crap out of it.
So i looked at the links you provided. It said "dozens of complaints have been received" over the ice cream. Are you seriously calling "dozens of complaints" an "outrage from muslims"? Dozens of complaints out of 1 billion or some number like that of muslims does not make an outrage. As for the other link it hasnt even been printed yet, so we may never know if anything would happen. As for wether christians would bother with this, the answer is yes. Christians are "outraged" by distribution of bibles because they claim people might throw the bibles away, which is disrespectful to Jesus. here is the link http://www.christianpost.com/articl...Outreach_Draws_Complaints_from_Christians.htm
Did not know that. It had long been an empty institution, anyway--aren't something like 80% of Swedes atheist/agnostic?
Oh, "they" are, huh? "They" need to cheer up, do they? It's awesome that you know how how one-plus billion people feel and how they cope with their collective feelings.
The Muslim lady sitting at the desk next to me as I type this isn't wearing a burka or even a headscarf.
Care to expand on that? I never claimed to be an expert on Muhammed, however, I am well aware of his connection to Mecca if that is what you are getting at. I don't think that in any way "proves" that the man would fully sanction the current Kingdom. From the very own scholarly Wikipedia that you cited to (without providing any snippets as to why): The capitulation of Mecca and the defeat of an alliance of enemy tribes at Hunayn effectively brought the greater part of the Arabian peninsula under Muhammad's authority. However, this authority was not enforced by a regular government, as Muhammad chose instead to rule through personal relationships and tribal treaties. Do with it what you will, but this doesn't seem inconsistent with what I was saying.
