Now I've been watching the US of A since 1989 or so and don't recall ever seeing the boys suit up in this kit. The logo is the one that wasn't introduced until about 1993 and by then we'd contracted with Adidas, so I'm confused as to why it appears to be a Mitre. Anyone know if/when we wore this?
that was Plan B for the 2008 WCQ kits. in the end, the fed decided to go with tommy hilfilger's design and this is resigned to the 'What If' bin of history.
That looks a lot like the top my rec girls team wore between '95-'98. If I remember right it was a Mitre. It looked good on pre-adolescent girls, but probably not on full grown men. And our logo was much better as well.
I don't know; it seems odd to me that there would be a "Thailand knock-off" of the USA jersey in the early 90s.
I want to say that was a shirt given away by a major USSF sponsor (Tide, maybe) prior to US 1994. "Send in 3 proofs of purchase" type of thing. I'd have to check the old programs from that era to make sure, but I'm almost positive.
I looked through just about everything, I can't find the original advert, sorry. But I think I'm close to correct!
wrong forum? sure, but with your head so far up your ass that you felt it was a good idea to make that comment I'm not surprised you didn't know where you were.
I find it strange that it doesn't have a manufacturer's logo. Looks like a knock-off. But even if it is, there must be a corresponding original/legit version.
Ha ha. My favorite episode is where the guy says he subconsciously wanted to get caught so he could be able to get help. Yeeeah right. To the people who responded on the last page.. Sorry I didn't know we had to be completely PC on here. Get off the internet.
It is indeed a Mitre jersey. I have seen these on eBay of and on for the last 5 years or so and I have been wondering the same thing. The Adidas contract to supply uniforms dates back to 1990 and back then we had the old USSF logo, not the one pictured above.
You should get off the internet if you don't wont to read something "offensive." Uh oh. Clown. That's a good one. Really flexing that mental muscle, and then putting a smiley face under it to show satisfaction with your wit.
Resurrecting this thread because of new information. http://cgi.ebay.com/VINTAGE-Team-US...286.c0.m14&_trkparms=66:2|65:10|39:1|240:1318 It appears to be an Umbro jacket with the same design. Does anyone know if Umbro put in a bid to supply the US team for the 1994 World Cup or something? Was Adidas' contract up for renewal before the cup? Shortly after the Cup we went to Nike...
