This deal is dead and the new rumor is now Alvaro Morata from ATM. Which quite frankly would be a good move for them.
Noth sure that another 30 yr old - who stunk it up at Chelsea, and then couldn't even stay with Atletico, so they loaned him out back to Juve where didn't even hit 10 league goals (so much so that Juven went and got Vlahovic midway through the season) is the answer.
Werner back at Leipzig. The chavs, in their precipitous rush to do one over Liverpool as per usual, forgot to do the rest of the homework— what are his strengths and weaknesses, do we actually need him etc.
Not being in the CL tends to make it harder to get big name/game players in... Multiply this by the fact that their big names recently have been part of a circus and it gets even trickier this year. The De Jong situation exemplifying this...
Just wanted to let everybody know that the bestest club in the world man citeh have roused their supporters to such a degree that they've had five comments since May 2020 in their forum.
wow. he's their second most valuable player, after KdB. Manchester City have reached an agreement to sell Portugal playmaker Bernardo Silva, 27, to long-time suitors Barcelona for a fee of between £42m and £46.5m. (Manchester Evening News)
They never relied on him to be main man (he was a great added weapon) and this year they look to be playing a different version of their game with haaland and the throughballs. Seems they want Foden to be a fulltime starter now anyway. The key to that team is De Bruyne.
There's no question that the reduction in terms of their attacking depth may very well bite them, at some point. I get they've added Grealish & Haaland & some Spanish youngster, but still... just a couple seasons ago they had 2 proven threats at every attacking position. In just a few years they've moved on from Sterling, Sane, Silva, Bilva, Augero, Jesus, and Torres. Haaland is great, KDB is great, Foden is very good, and maybe Grealish does better this season... but that's a lot!
hold the phone .... It was reported yesterday that the Catalan club had reached an agreement with the Premier League side for the sale of the midfielder but the Manchester club have dismissed those claims, stating that they have not accepted a bid from Barcelona to sell the Portugal international as they battle to keep hold of the 28-year-old, reports the Daily Mail.

New signings Andreas Christensen and Franck Kessie could both leave Barcelona for free if they are not registered before Saturday's LaLiga opener against Rayo Vallecano, various sources have confirmed to ESPN.
beacuse of what I posted about Kessie and Christensen above? I don't think that would = a major change in the rules (AFAIK).
