I think that I should voice my opinion in this forum. ;)

And I would have to say no. Me and soccernutter are halfway doing a decent job keeping each topic to a thread or two. But if there should be sub-forums, it should only be for like Baseball, Football, Basketball, and Hockey. Those threads get the most hits.

But any decision that you make will be fine with me.

Yes, also include college/pro football; and college/pro basketball as seperate subforums.

    Maybe add auto racing.

I'm beginning to not want to follow the current everything-in-one-list forum.

I agree...set up subforums for the major sports. That way you can actually start up different threads on say the NFL without having to group just about everything into one major thread.

i think that if subforums are to exist, they need to be very generic. Like basketball, hockey, etc not specializing them by college/pro/usa/europe and what not.

No. It would create extra layers to navigate, not needed IMHO.

I think you should add one for soccer.

Just got back from holiday shopping - yeah!

I'll do a con to CIM, just to give the opposite view. Subforums would be fine. Have the main forum to start the "biggest trade" or F1 threads and the rest could be either started or moved to the subforums. Though the subforums should be limited to football (American), Baseball, Basketball, and Hockey. There is not really enough other traffic otherwise to justify. I don't think there should be a separation of pro and college as the sport is not all the different between the two levels.

    Vote away.

We don't like table-tennis types round here son - move along.

And yes to sub-fora for the major US sports that clog up the place.
No other sports get enough action to warrant anything

I think we need less forums on bigsoccer. Not more. More forums mean all the discussions are too spread out.

IMO the only time you know you need more forums is when someone make a post and come back to check the replies a few hours later, the thread is already at page two with 20 replies.

I vote yes. This forum is really cluttered and if someone wants to look through a thread, they have to read 100+ posts, discouragin if you ask me. Each thread has about 10+ topics and its hard to have a good discussion. Splitting the forum into seperate subforums would make it easier and more informative.

Yes, at least for the big 4

I wont bother reading generic "NFL Regular Season" threads because they are two long and cover to many issues. A big waste of my time reading through lots of garbage to get to a few interesting posts.

Just so you guys know, we feel the vote shows what it does, and we have asked to a decision to be made. It is out of our hands, but myself and CIM will deal with this either way and want a resolution as you would as well.

    And happy holidays all.

Okay, folks. We've had a reponce. Looks like there will be 4 new subforums - baseball, basketball, football (american) and hockey. There will not be separate forums for college and professional.
