Do you think the FO will promote the May 22nd game?

When Michael Jordan came into town last year to play the nuggets, KSE marketed the hell out of that game and as a result that game sold out easily. Do you think that KSE is going to do the same thing when DC United comes here May 22nd? If they were smart, they market the hell out of that game too! If they get a good word out that a 14 year old soccer phenom is coming right here to Denver to play us..people will show up.

I can finally convince some of my friends to come to a Rapids game with me too. :)

They'd be silly not to. They've already gotten tons of free pub with his appearances on 60 minutes, Letterman, etc.... All they have to say is Adu, Adu and I would think they'd get a 3,000-5,000 person bump in attendance.

I think they'll wait and see until after his first match on Saturday. Maybe he scores in his first match in the MLS. They can promote that, see the young phenom, he scored in his first match!!!

But if they don't promote Adu and the match on the 22nd, we'll know they just aren't trying (like with the website...).

I expect they will. Over 20,000 will show for the game on the 22nd, bet on it. Already, DC has sold 20,000 for the game on Saturday and it looks like it's going to be a sell out. That's great news and the dude hasn't even kicked an official ball.

Freddy is going to be the draw that MLS has been looking for. Reading the DC thread it sounds like the opener is already sold out, at a restricted 25,000 in the lower bowl. I'm sure if Freddy is starting and performing well, the Rapids will be pressing the hard sell. I think they already are with the 4 packs where you get the 4th of July and then a DC game. Not sure. I can't wait until he is out here.

    Do tell?

You wouldn't happen to know how much those 4-packs are, would you? After the semester is over I'm going to a couple Rapids games to reward myself for my hard work. :D

I believe that's the same night as Jersey night. So, there's already added fervor for that night. I am definitely expecting them to promote it a lot along both lines as the game gets closer...

Just call your local Rapids ticket rep. I'm sure they aren't too much. I think FC5280 just gave you a price quote.
