What I mean is that the conservatives hated Bill Clinton almost as much as the liberals hate Dubya Bush. I've just been in this country since 1992 and politics seems to be getting worse and more polarized. Why can't we all get along?
If Bush wins, especially if there are shenanigans and controversy (such as not winning the popular vote again), then it will get truly nasty. If Kerry wins, it won't be as bad. Although a lot of Americans have an emotional attachment to Bush, he's a much more polarizing force. And his decision to go to war in Iraq will continue to have repercussions at home and abroad. I think the Republican Party has already begun to realize that their blind faith in Jorge has cost them a lot, so they're not entirely behind him, not the voting core and not the party leadership. The main thing is that Bush will continue to fuel groups not directly affiliated w/ the Dems to continue to mobilize in order to affect change.
