Not me. Although from junior high through HS I played bass guitar. Why? Cuz one of the hot chicks that lived down the block from me played bass guitar so I decided to play bass guitar. I wasn't really any good at it. I could play stuff from Bon Jovi and GnR and Metallica and other crotch rock bands (I didn't mean to lump Metallica in there). I tried playing six string regular geetar but damn I sucked.

:D My friend wanted to play trombone when she was in HS but was told by her band teacher that her arms were too short so she had to switch to drums.

What's the over/under on how many posts until someone uses one of the phrases "skin flute", "male organ", or "vertical harmonica"?

I have a kalimba. It is fun to play, although I'm sure I use it in a very unorthodox non-traditional style. It is for my entertainment thought so it doesn't really matter.

As of today, I've been playing drums for 25 years. MP3s of a prior band are available at URT.net, and I'm currently playing with a singer named Lindsie Reitz, along with a couple of other projects.

I also just finished demoing some solo stuff, but I'm not sure if I want to post links to that here. My guitar playing and singing are a ways behind my drumming.

I play the piano. Lets form a band called "The BigSoccer Movies Video Book and Music Thread Eleven". North Side Rovers can be the singer.

If we go through with the idea of proposed band the lineup would be:

    bass
    drums
    piano
    kalimba
    alto sax
    2 guitar players
    bass clarinet

That's only nine of us, (10 counting the singer) but I guess it would be like the whole Ben Folds Five thing when they're actually a trio.

man, that lineup of instruments would sound like crap.

I was thinking that before I even opened this thread up... I was gonna set it at three posts.

Actually, that looks pretty close to a Henry Cow/Slapp Happy line-up.

Oh, and if we're going to pimp our bands-

    Our Full Length

    Our First Seven Inch
    http://www.temporaryresidence.com/www/trl_html/descriptions/TRR01.htm

    Our Second Seven Inch
    http://www.temporaryresidence.com/www/trl_html/descriptions/TRR03.htm

Plus, there are also some other appearances on comps that aren't available anymore.

I played guitar and "sang" in that band. We broke up a while back, which is why I probably can't find any mp3s up anymore.

Yeah we could do something fairly original at first and then water it down later once we're popular, charge $50 for shows in stadiums and make a fortune!

I played the clarinet all through middle school.
    I was first chair, even.

For some reason, I didn't continue into high school.
Guess I had better things to do...
