Its worth mentioning that this practice only occurs in special and rare circumstances like last season when the title race is very close right to the last day. Also, it would have to be pretty late in the season like maybe final 5 games or so for it to be worthwhile to do. Take that into consideration and I don't think there is a threat of clubs eventually expecting us to pay them to play hard. It just doesn't happen anywhere near enough for that to really become an issue. If it was happening every week of every season then yes theres a problem but it only happens some weeks of some very rare seasons.
