Do we want Ghana or Germany?

Ghana doesn't even have a chance. Germany will win, Serbia will tie or win, and the US will play Serbia.

 

Neither...lets hope Ghana wins and so does Australia. That would mean we play Australia

I rate all three of those teams pretty evenly, with a slight edge to the Germans.

 

We want Germany to win, they're clearly the top team in the group. Anyway, we'll have a reason to hate any of the opponents: Germany-2002, Ghana-2006, and Serbia-Subotic.

 

I want Ghana. REALLY, REALLY bad. That's the type of revenge that is too good to pass up.

 

I'd be shocked if we didn't get Serbia.

 

We get a revenge matchup with any of the three matchups.

I am not into any false set of bravado. If we can avoid Germany I am all for it. Give us the easiest team possible out of that group and let us move on.

No one talks about who you beat on the road to the cup, they talk about where you finished!

 

Serbia is most likely through + winner of Germany/Ghana

 

Australia, Ghana, Germany, Serbia in that order. Yes, Germany is a better team than Serbia, but we match up a lot better against them.

I don't want Germany, but overall, I don't really care. The fact that we are through has me on cloud nine.

This could mean a run to the semis, because we (the team) would play the winner of Uruguay and Korea right?

That is not very complicated, the USA can beat those two. By winning the group the USA avoids playing Argentina in the Quarterfinals (if we advance).

We want Australia. Ghana win and Australia win and we face Australia (Ghana with 7, Austalia with 4 and Germany and Serbia with 3).

 

actually we do. 1998 Serbia (and Montenegro) knocked us out and booed during our anthem. It was a nasty game that got understandably overshadowed by Iran and the team's pathetic meltdown.

 

"Neven again!" would make a pretty good rallying cry.

 

Australia sounds like an easy team to look past.
