I'm not sure I would be looking to get rid of Cala myself. The injuries are concerning. I've seen suggestions that he needs to move inside to help mitigate those. I don't see MLS's future at LB and I'm thinking Arteta doesn't either. Could see a scenario where we add a more traditional LB and start using Cala at LCB with an eye on him potentially replacing Gabi in a year or 2 if he can stay healthy. For next season that would give us 4 left-footed defenders. 1 a pure LCB, 1 a pure LB and 2 LB/LCB hybrids.

We're certainly not going get rid of all of them. That being said, other than Cala and MLS, I'm not sure I can argue with any on that list. This squad needs a big overhaul. After last summer, I loved that the organization was looking to add depth. Unfortunately, that depth was shown to be not good enough.

Also, part of me feels that it doesn't matter who we pick up unless Arteta, himself, goes through a tactical overhaul. It's like the failure of winning the title in the 23/24 season broke him and he went into this defensive shell and the attack was given its last rites.

I definitely don't expect us to to offload 10+ first team players this window - but if we are playing anyone on the above list in a CL/PL game - and its not seeing out the last 5-10 minutes of a win, we are in trouble. Calafiori is the only player I'd consider keeping based on ability, but he is a perma-crock, and we have had enough of those players to recognize when its time to move on and stop hoping that they will be more available next season.

Agree fully. We could sign Mbappe, Vitinha, and Yamal - none of that would make a difference unless Arteta changes. He wasn't forced into playing the way we did this season due to squad limitations. It was a choice.

I also don't think he can change. He would have done so months ago if he could. Also, whatever impact the 23/24 choke job had on him - this year's is going to be 100x worse. I don't think anyone on this team is ever going to recover from it, not here at least. I do expect Arteta, Saliba, Saka etc. will win things eventually, at other clubs, but after this ordeal everyone needs to move on for their sake and ours.

The only player I would not sell under any circumstance is Downman. Everyone else - and I mean everyone - Saka, Rice, and Saliba included - I would consider selling at the right price. This is a gut renovation job - we need to tear down everything and start over. Again - do I expect us to do this? No. People are bad at facing up to reality. Next season we slide down to 3rd, the season after that 5th, then 7-8th - and only then everyone wakes up and recognizes that we came to the end of a cycle in May 2026, and lost 3 years trying to fix something that was beyond repair.

Seeing some claims that Berta was seen at a Gala vs Fenerbahce match so now links to Osimhen are popping up.

Everything I've seen is that he's on crazy wages and PL clubs are scared away because of that.

But Gyokeres would kill it in Turkey, let's do a swap.

    Pass.

Per Capology Osimhen is on about £214k per week, about £14k per week more than Gyokeres and £66k per week less than Havertz, Crazy wages for Türkiye, but not necessarily for the premier league.

Capology isn't official. The wage issue has been reported by Ornstein and Romano as a reason why PL clubs weren't interested.

He's definitely dropped in value and is affordable. He'd either combine really well with Saka or they'd get in each other's way.

He's a left-footed right wing, money would be better spent on a different profile as long as Saka, Dowman, Nwaneri and Madueke are around.

I seriously doubt that even the richest clubs in Türkiye are paying anyone more than the salary quoted by Capology. It may be the salary the agent was asking for from Premier League Clubs. But that’s a negotiation. If Osimhen and his agent aren’t willing to negotiate then you walk away.

    He’s a right sided 9

    bigger talent than Nwaneri

you can worry about his height, but he hs excellent low center of gravity

Madrid may not want to sell but Endricm won't get the chance to succeed there.

    I don’t know man
The fact that he got married at 18 to some 24 year old influencer chick with them weird hipster tattoos seems like a red flag to me
Besides - he seems like a futsal player to me

You gotta buy Brazilian attackers young and then sell them young.

If we reconfigured our attack to accommodate a withdrawn fwd, he might work well.

Really hope we give Nwaneri a better run at it last year, but this year we have absolutely stuffed a year of development for him.

If you have to loan MLS and Nwaneri out next season, how about a promoted EPL or Championship side.

I'd rather we keep them around with the intention of playing them in every domestic cup game and play decent minutes against the lower quality sides. That way we maintain control over their playing time and style of play. Too often, loans don't work as expected.

Can agree with this. If we had kept Nwaneri we would have likely seen him either in the Odegaard role or continuing with his strong form at RWF while Saka was injured and then we would have been spared Madueke so often.

The problem wasn’t that the depth wasn’t good enough, it was that the depth had to become the first team. That we are in this position still despite all the injuries is a tribute to those signings, if anything.

I’ve said variants of this, but also think that some of those signings (Madueke) haven’t worked out nearly as well as they should have.
