https://www.cnn.com/2021/12/18/us/tennessee-professor-syllabus-money-trnd/index.html says a University of Tennessee at Chattanooga professor put directions to $50 in the syllabus, and nobody went to it. At some schools, a lot of information is on syllabi for every class, which I experienced when I worked on syllabi. When I was a student, I don't think there was much that was on every syllabus that got boring to read. Reading syllabi takes a tiny amount of time compared to how much reading students should be doing in most classes.
There has been a massive expansion of information on syllabi that makes this story pretty easy for me to believe. Many are upwards of ten pages long, full of dense information that is often in university-speak rather than designed for the ease of understanding by students.
