How well has DMB been for both his club and national team over the past year and a half. He is one of our best players and showed it today in our 3-1 win over Jamaica. I think Bruce used him well today and the left flank foward position suites him well. Heres to you DaMarcus!!!!

His quick "give and goes" into the box have had the same result many times..
Same thing was the winner against Poland..
He wins an awful lot of free kicks too.. A lot more good things can be said about his play, of course.
    Stay healthy DMB .. :)

He's alright. He would be good if he wasn't so small. He always gets thrown around. loses a lot of battles and balls, but still like him.

Are you kidding? He's drawn a ton of free kicks and red cards, because he's so agile.

Beas would be so much better if had any size at all but he's still pretty damn good and l3d007 is right he's taken his game to another level in the last year and a half. I for one would like to see Beasley play in 3 forward system with Eddie Johnson and Landon Donovan.

Doesn't he essentially play in what is a three-forward setup at Guus Hiddink's PSV Eindhoven? If this perception is true, and (to add to the perception) if he does it well (which he has done in the last year), then maybe Bruce Arena has to find a way to exploit this strength that DMB brings within the system.

Arena's other personnel on the field at a given time has an influence on this, too. But point taken, that DMB has lifted his game markedly over the last several months.

DMB has been the Gold Cup's best players to this point I believe. At least I'm pretty sure he's leading in overall points. He hasn't impressed me too much in the last few World Cup Qualifiers but he has taken control of the Gold Cup.

I hope we get past the semis and see Mexico in the finals.

I was at the game at Foxboro yesterday, and can tell you DMB was the most impressive player on the field. Here's a little gauge of that. Whenever he got the ball on the wing 1 v. 1 versus a defender, all of the Honduran guys around me stood up and watched. This was true all over the stadium. There's a palpable buzz in the stadium when he gets the ball on a run. THis didn't happen with any other player on the field.

Even after 90 minutes he was still running like a cheetah. He was so significantly faster than anyone else on the field.

I personally think he's the 2nd best player wearing a US jersey right now.

    1) Keller
    2) DMB
    3) LD

What also is really important is the on-field chemistry between LD and DMB. I know it's mentioned by announcers every time they're in the same line-up, but it's true. They know where the other guy is going to be.

I would have to agree with everything everyone has said so fair, DMB in the Jamaica game played amazing. Against Jamaica he was easily the United States greatest attacking threat. But the reason I think he was getting these chances was because of JOB, and Landon, both of these guys have played well the whole tournament, which cannot be said for DMB (I am not getting down on DMB but he just hasn’t played at the level of JOB). In my opinion the ranking should go something like:

    1. Landon / JOB
    3. Back line (including Keller) (most of the time)
    4. DMB

Either way it makes little difference who is playing the best at any moment and time just as long as the United States is putting the ball in the back of the net and not letting the opponent score.
