You read the thread title right-- DMB starts and Lee is on the bench. Currently 0-1, as J Vennegoor of Hesselink puts PSV up on top.

It's now 2 goals to PSV, according to soccernet, as Farfan puts in a second in the 21st minute.

No idea on the assists or anything.

    What a crappy goal.
Did you notice that he had to take the ball across midfield before hitting the shot?
Jeez..... have some guts Cocu..... launch it from your own half of the field.

Brad Friedel would have saved it.

Keller would have saved it and then wrestled the mascot to the ground.

That's like Jordan trying to dunk from behind the free-throw line. If you're going to do it, do it right.

Last game on his contract for Cocu, what a way to go out. You know, that would be a great guy for RBNY to bring in...

It will be interesting to see what happens with Lee next season.

Will he get a shot to compete with the first team and play consistent minutes? With all the games they'll be playing next year, again, and the departures of some key players, this could happen, but not if the technical staff doesn't think he's ready.

Will it be more of the same, with him not really factoring in the first team plans?

Or, might they do what Ajax did with John O'Brien when the sent him to Utrecht for a season of first team experience and send Lee elsewhere in Holland do get consistent games? However, he's onl been in Eindhoven for half a season and they may not feel that's enough time to learn the "PSV Way" before he's sent elsewhere.

Obviously, I prefer the first option but if that's not gonna be the case, I hope he goes out on loan.

A couple of weeks ago, Hiddink said something to the effect of, "The youth squads must be good enough to provide the 16th-21st player on the roster because PSV can't afford to go this deep with the older, more expensive players."

It just shows what an old man Cocu really is. He doesn't have the energy left to run all the way to the penalty area before taking a shot ;)

  16. I really donot hope so, first because I hate FC Utrecht and second because the quality of the training excercise with PSV is a couple of levels higher than with FC Utrecht, so that wouldnot be of any help for Lee to develop the speed of acting and anticipating and the necesary tactical skills at PSV standards.
Another six months of honing the required skills and Lee might be well on the way to join the two other teenagers in the first team.

Didn't Utrecht just re-sign the guy with the porn star name, Foeke Booy?

I suppose this was the last club match for Demarcus before USMNT training begins in May -- hopefully the time off will give him a chance to regain the confidence that has been lacking recently . . .
