In today's New York Times, Page E6, under "Physical Culture". Youri rates the current crop of football boots, incl. a nice pic of him in his RB training gear juggling an MLS Teamgeist. Here's a quick summary... Diadora Maximus RTX 14: "good feel, rear molded studs are too high, arch too stiff" Adidas +F50.6 Tunit: synthetic upper "a bit sticky", but laces anchor the foot well. Nike Mercurial Vapor III: needs on more stud on the sole for quicker jumps, fiber mesh heel cup kept foot from sliding. Puma v1.06/FG: doesn't like off-center laces, says it could effect passes and shots made w/ outside of the foot. Hummel 8.2 Concept FG: not impressed with goat skin leather upper. "The leather is not soft, I fell like I'm wearing a box, not a pair of shoes." FWIW - it's nice to see a pro actually review shoes honestly instead of just pimping the brand he endorses.
LOL, it would help if he put the velcro strap down on the Tunits! Good find though, quite interesting.
