Re: January transfer rumours Hasselbaink on loan till the end of the season nothing moe than that. Rumours about us putting 5.5m in for that Samaras. TBH i havent seen this Samaras but i know hes scored 7 goals this season and is 6'3". Might be worth a dabble but i doubt we can afford to put in such a high bid and at the moment i dont trust Moyes putting so much in for one player, they usually struggle.
Re: January transfer rumours I've seen him (Samaras) play quite a bit. He's pacey, can finish and is much too good for Heerenveen. It would be a great buy, IMO, although £6m seems a little high.
Re: January transfer rumours Yeah but havent they just sold Huntelaar?(spl?) there other top striker. This rumour does seem to have suome substance, apparently Moyes was present at the 0-0 draw with Sparta Rotterdam over the weekend. Bad point is that Man City have already agreed personal terms with the guy and on wednesday i think hes having an abertration about his contract which could mean that hell go to City instead.

Re: January transfer rumours Yeah, Huntelaar went to Ajax on the first of January. But the Dutch clubs know they're a feeder league, and they aren't likely to pass up £6m from an English club when the player has publicly announced that he's leaving in the summer. He'll go now when they can cash in on it. As for us v. Citeh, he'll go to them. I don't have any doubts about that. Whenever we're linked in the media with someone, we don't get them. It has to be a surprise move, like the Stubbs deal. Didn't even see it coming until it was done.
Re: January transfer rumours The Stubbs deal was done about 2 days before it was announced. Ask Phil Brown at Derby lol, Stubbs were heading down to Derby to talk personal terms but got the call from Moyes and decided to come to us. And the how did we get Arteta well as we know he was on loan to us from Real Sociedad but in the summer Liverpool made a move for him but he said he was only interested in joining us. To answer bFord's question. Yes we can just not often. One example was Beattie we beat Villa for his signature.

Re: January transfer rumours While he'd certainly blend right in with his injury problems, he only played in 6 of 13 World Cup qualifiers, so obtaining a work permit would be a problem. Being able to play center back and left back, though, he's clearly Moyes' ideal signing....

Re: January transfer rumours To be honest, I have never seen them play. They're awfully young and don't get much first team time. It looks like Snoyl was a regular for Den Bosch last season and Sno hasn't got any first team action this season.

Methinks they know we're desperate...why is it we never seem to be able to bargain from a position of strength? Also, in other news, Jimmy Floyd is going to Fulham.
Re: January transfer rumours For me Nugent isnt worth 3m so i wouldnt wanna see him bought for 4m, i would say Cameron Jerome from Cardiff would be better, they would accept 3m as thast the asking price and hes already scored quite a few more than Nugent.
