Yeah, it's time to get this one started.

I read on an Everton fan site that Spanish newspapers are reporting that Tommy Gravesen is unhappy that he's only a substitute and is thinking about moving back to Goodison. Seems like a little wishful thinking on our part, but an interesting rumour nonetheless.

It would be fantastic though...I never thought he should have moved anyways.

A buy back clause was put into the Gravesen deal when we sold him, would be a great signing to get him back, but id have to say that a striker (or 2) should be our top priority, although tough to say who would be available this early, Robbie Keane being probably the one we have been linked with most.

Gravesen has fallen out of favor with the coach, which in my view is a mistake. He has had at least one bad game, but then who hasn't? Even so, Gravesen has played almost every game as a starter or a sub.

I would say if he continues as a sub for an extended period there is a very good chance he will be sold back to Everton at the winter break. But right now he is saying he is fine with fighting for a place in the side.

    Re: January transfer rumours

If Gravesen were to come back it would be a major boost, but the big problem we could be facing is trying to attract quality players, in the summer we had European football to offer, now even if our form picks up we don't have much to offer top players, unfortunately it looks like we may have missed our chance to get a top quality stiker when the summer window closed.

If we're going for an Icelandic international not named Eidur, I think we're in big trouble.

Would we still have enough money to go after a striker if we go and sign Commons. He seems to be a nice young player, and we can use some of those.

That's a good question. I don't really know anything about Commons, but according to the soccernet roster (http://soccernet.espn.go.com/team/squad?id=393&cc=5901) he is a 22 year old, 5' 6" defender! Why in the world would we be looking at a midget defender for 5 million quid?!

Yeah, a lot of those football365 gossip bits turn out to be complete bunk. But, hey, it's a slow day and it's been too quiet down here at the bottom of the table...

    More football365 gossip...

    ROBBIE KEANE ON MOVE
Martin Jol is reportedly willing to sell one of his multitude of players, Robbie Keane, who has been linked with a move to goal-shy Everton in January. The Independent also claims that Everton still intend to re-sign Thomas Gravesen from Real Madrid.

I've heard both of these enough that I am starting to get hopefull...

I'm not even going to bother getting excited until I see a photo of him holding up an Everton shirt with his name and number on the back.

Awesome. Can I get some kind of guarantee on that?

Oh, and since you're going for it, you may as well bring in Ronaldinho to replace Beattie. :D

No, I'm afraid Ronaldinho would ruin the chemistry I have worked so hard to build....

    Bent to go?

There are a lot of rumors about him moving. He's a quality lad, works his socks off, but I don't know if he has Premiership quality. Especially his finishing really bothers me.

Yeah, I've been worried about this since he was left off the Birmingham roster. I agree that he's not quite Premiership quality, though his work rate is phenomenal.

    Re: January transfer rumours

Hopefully this rumor is predicated on first signing a new (and presumably better) striker...we don't have the depth of squad to be selling a striker without a replacement already in hand.
