Disturbing behavior from Convey after today's qualifier..

Hopefully he was pissed because he thinks he could have helped DC and didn't get to play in either game.

 

I watched the game. I don't remember seeing any of this. So I'm presuming that Boston Bob was at the game. Either that or he's making all this up. If it's the former then perhaps someone can confirm the incident. If it's the latter then I guess it was a really successful troll.

So does anyone actually know what really happened? Does anyone actually know if this really happened at all?

Hell, for all we know Convey drank too much Gatorade, got the runs and had to go really bad!

Gotta love it though. Convey doesn't even play and folks still find reason to bash him.

 

Who knows if this is true, but yeah, Bobby does seem to get a little bit whiney at times (like always waving his arms when he doesn't get the ball on the flank), but I can see where he'd have some pent up frustration after the trials and tribs of the last twelve months. (I wonder if Bobby was told that he won't be making the trip to Grenada since the score is still so close? Perhaps Bruce is going to bring back Pablo, Wolff and Mathis and there won't be room for Bobby as a third-string left winger?)

But I would be pissed too if the coach let my club teammate fly back to DC to play another 90 minutes sub-par performance while I was held back... and then Arena throws Stewart in anyways for a cap while leaving Convey on the bench?

Plus, I'm sure Bobby believes (rightly so) that he could do a lot better on the left flank than Eddie Lewis. Although I like Lewis, I think Bobby has surpassed him as a player.

Whining about it won't get Bobby anywhere though. He needs to make the most of his opportunity when Bruce gives it to him on the field, which barring his whining, will happen soon enough.

He's had an attitude problem that has only gotten worse through the years. In all honesty, combined with his stats, I think it's a shame the deal with Spurs didn't go through last year.

And before any of you throw out that Earnie Stewart argument of "everything he does off the ball" and call me a non cultured soccer fan, keep in mind that both Bobby and Earnie aren't getting paid to be defenders, but to be putting up some offensive stats as well.

I do think that both Convey and Stewart are valuable players for DC, but I think that Bobby's allocation could have been well used for a goal scorer this year.

 

I wasn't at the game so I didn't see any of it. Convey was probably just pissed that he didn't play, was probably told that he would play, and is upset because not only did he miss out on two games, it also hurt his chances of getting a Work Permit by not playing in WCQ. I imagin he was told he would go in for Vanney at some point in the second half, but that was before the game changed with teh Casey injury. But if it is a problem, we all know how good Bruce is at dealing with such things, he will either pat him on the back and explain or kick him in the ass and tell him to get over himself.

 

Bobbito's behavior, if true, may not be justifiable but it's certainly understandable. To him (and many of us), this was a total waste of a weekend.

 

First, Boston Bob has no idea what Bobby was thinking at the end of the game.

Second, Convey should've started before Chris Armas, who was terrible.

 

If I'm to believe the stats given in the other thread, if he plays in the second leg, he has the caps to qualify for a work permit automatically.

 

Convey has a right to be pissed off. I was pissed off when DC stuggled through another game while he is sitting on his butt in Columbus all day.

Bruce Arena is really screwing a lot of teams with his heavy handed techniques regarding pulling important players away from their club teams to sit on the bench for games against 186th Ranked Fifa teams.

Having ridden in the elevator at RFK about a dozen times at DC games with him he doesn't talk to people when they make friendly comments about the match (He usually turns his back to them) and I've seen him just ignore fans by pretending to be on a cell phone call in the elevator. He's an elitist prick and it's gone to his head.

You guys might not believe it but I've seen it with my own eyes and I was shocked by his arrogance.

 

1. This "incident" wasn;t shown on TV, so I am immediately doubt of its accuracy.

b. Would you want a player who thins he could have helped the team or a guy who thinks he's inferior to others.

iii. If he really did it, he's a dickhead. But I think "Boston Bob" is the real dickhead.

I've ridden in that same elevator with him and he's never done anything like you describe so maybe he just doesn't like you.
