Hi, my son was recently given an autographed USMNT jersey by his favorite player. I'm wondering if anyone could provide any tips towards how to display it. Is framing a jersey difficult?

    PMs/emails are welcome.

    Thanks

Some people have had success using regular poster frames from Wal-Mart.

You can get some deep frames that are true display case quality, but they can be spendy.

Others might have some better ideas...

Find a good crafts store that does framing. I use one out here and they usually run 50% custom framing order coupons in the paper about once a month or once every other. Using the 50% coupon I get a terrific frame job for about $100-$150 depending on the size of the frame.

The autographed shirts I have are professionally framed, about $250 each (no half off coupons here!). A reputable framer will have "certification" from some national framing association and will use those guidelines. My shirts are sewn onto a stiff background using a very thin fishing line, hence gravity wont pull them down towards the ground. My first shirt was done quite well, the 2d not too great. I think I didnt explain well enough the 2d shirt to display the shoulder insignia. As said before, some people use Wal Mart poster frames, but those aren't that great, IMO

Great point - make sure you do the layout at the store and they understand exactly how you want it. For example, my Eddie Pope WC jersey has the '02 WC insignia on the sleeve and that was very important to me to have that shown correctly.

Can we ask who the player is?

Try a sports memorabilia store....I have a local shop that frames 8x10 photos for half of what it would cost at Aaron Brothers or other frame stores. They would have a better idea of how to deal with a shirt too to make it as nice as possible. I look forward to getting some shirts to get signed in January with the MNT training in Carson.

Anyone know an internet site selling 8x10 soccer photos? I always ask in every reply to this forum. :)

because autographs are generally on the back number, i like those clear two side box frames for shirts - i have the idea (should i ever buy a big house, yeah right) to cut open a space in a wall for them so one side is front and one back - i have a handful of signed shirts, and that would be quiet bitchin' indeed

EDIT: FYI ballack bayern CL, o'brien AJAX "rookie", zlatan sweden, de ridder AJAX "rookie"
