I am absolutely outraged today, my brothers. I have just gotten through reading a news piece which describes how, since this lunatic sniper has been seen driving a white van, that the Virginia State Police are stopping and searching white vans. I thought this was what America is against: blatent profiling of White Vans. I demand that ALL vans be stopped and searched. That way the White Vans will not feel bad. In fact, ALL vehicles should be seached. Beetles. Semis. Hummers. Ferraris. UPS trucks. You simply cannot single out one kind of van simply because that's the only kind of van involved in a crime. An outrage I tell you.
My brother lives 3/4 of a mile from that gas station. I've gotten gas at that gas station. This is REALLY not a suitable topic for humor.
I find nothing humorous about this at all, sir. Discrimination must be ferreted out whenever and wherever it rears it's ugly head. I will not be silenced.
But the truth is, a large percentage of crimes are committed by white vehicles. It's not a racial thing- it's cultural. I mean, is it really SOCIETY's fault that white vans get dirtier quicker than vehicles of other color?
Also, everyone especially in the media is talking about the sniper as a "he". Maybe its a so-called "soccer mom" with a white minivan. Boy, that would really give soccer a bad name!
Nobody's joking about ten people getting shot. I could care less if you stopped for gas at one of the sniper scenes. The third victim, Sarah Ramos, was a friend of my wife. We held a memorial service in her memory at a local church. That's how I take this thing seriously. I'm not going to mourn on a soccer forum.
I'm sorry your wife's friend was one of the victims. You have my sympathy, whether you want it or not. However, you're right. This is BigSoccer. It was silly of me to request a little courtesy, sensitivity and discretion in the choice of which subjects we use for amusement. I stand corrected.
Not only do I find the grant (or Sherman) -- who gives a ************ what drunken Yankee general we are talking about -- I also find offensive that this Archer thinks its funny to equat racial profiling with the color of a van. I think only a scuz would make such a joke, and I think people with Yankee avatars should be banned. Just to be clear. Now joke on.
I think what this is really all about is whether the van has Goodyear or Pirelli tires. Everyone knows that a van that has good old, American-made Goodyear tires can be trusted, but those foreign tires have strange ways and should be confined to special camps for "re-education". Well I find it offensive that some dimwit can't tell the difference between Grant and Sherman. Says a bunch about the levelo of intellect around here. And I also think that only a "scuz" as you so delicately put it would strip search 90 year old ladies in wheelchairs when you're trying to prevent young Muslim/Arab males from blowing up planes. That is why your original point was pretty lame, and also insulting. But since you like the term headlong, even though it appears you attempted to run headlong into my point but missed, is simply this: Comparing racial profiling (black men in cars in certain areas) and racial profiling (limiting searches to certain races of people when it is clear that not all dark skinned people are Arabic, and not all bomb carriers have to be Arabic) to the color of a car is insulting. Since you've decided to stoop to "Spelling Smack" like the lowest level of BS, I think you should be careful not to "equat" this with intelligence.
