I was wondering if there are discount tix available for the gold cup games. Fear reminded me that there was something about that posted in this forum, but I can't seem to find anything.

I'll be going to the game on the 27th and hopefully the 29th and 9th and would like to save a few $$, seeing as how I'll probably be paying for the friend who's going with me.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    thanks!
    :)

    Gold Cup Info

The info that I posted before involved calling a phone number and mentioning "The San Diego Spirit Deal." The number was 213-620-8087. The prices after 9/1/02 depended on which game and which type of ticket.

    Matchs 1 & 2
$28 for the $40 premier tickets
    $21 for the $30 category 1 tickets
    $17.50 for the $25 category 2 tickets

    Final Match
$35 for the $50 premier tickets
    $28 for the $40 category 1 tickets
    $21 for the $30 category 2 tickets

The company that is doing this is:
    Inter/Forever Sports
    Attn: Ticket Dept
    345 S. Figueroa #302
    Los Angeles, CA 90071

    Hey magiclamp...

Did you ask how many tix have been sold for the SoCal games? LoTheLurker said she has not seen any type of promo for this tourney down there.

No, I didn't think to ask. I was at work and kinda made a quick call. The lady was surprised when I gave her my NY address for the credit card tho! LOL! I told her my best friend lives out there and we go to as many Spirit games as we can. (ONE so far. Didn't tell her that part. LOL!!)

I posted info about the final here. Anyone interested in getting a grassroots Sam's Army section together in General Admission?

promotion has been ... ok, ive heard radio commercials, radio tie-ins to usda stirloin steaks (buy one steak, get one ticket free after buying another ticket), and ive seen a really quick tv commerical as well as ads in club soccer pamphlets, official club league books, tournament magazines...etc.

Looks like I've missed the first match already, and can't make the second... but I'm definitely up for joining a Sam's Army section if we're in the final.

I'm going to be at the Fullerton game tomorrow, hoping that the crowd will be larger than the one at the Rose Bowl yesterday...

It's supposed to be clear there tomorrow night, with the temperature hovering around 60 for the entire game. Too bad the team isn't scheduled to play Panama - I wonder what they will do, if they wore gloves yesterday afternoon?

I really enjoyed the game at Fullerton, even though we all wished that Joy had gotten a goal! I mean, all of those short corner kicks could have been chances for her to get a header into the net!

It's too bad that the game on the 9th will be at the Rose Bowl instead of Titan Stadium. The field looked pretty good - didn't have any of the standing water that the first game did. And you're sooooo much closer to the field and the players - of course, I was so close thanks to the great seats that Lab got for the bunch of us!
