For any of you all that have one of these, what channels that show a decent amount of soccer do you receive and which system do you recommend overall?

I've had DirecTV since 1997. I love it. I plan to buy a new HD receiver relatively soon.

I have experience with both DirecTV and digicable.

If I could I'd trade in my digicable today for DirecTV.

The only problem with DirecTV is that you need an upgraded package to get FSW. But in terms of PPV, Shootout etc - DirecTV is just plain better than Digicable.

Digital cable, as far as soccer, varies greatly location to location.
On mine in Pasadena, CA.. You can't get MLS Shootout, no Fox Sports World.. However, they do have Fox Sports World Espanol.. They also carry all the Spanish Language networks you can think of and all the over the air ones and the international channel which shows one Serie A game per week.
You get one system you may lose things but gain others.
It seems to me the best is Direct TV which I will be getting again before the MLS season and they will usually make deals like letting you get FSW without having to get the entire sports package, etc..
At least they said they would do that with me.
I was also told I could get both FSW and FSWE if I wanted which is the best of both worlds especially if you want more south american football.
It also seems Direct TV always gets the Pay Per View games while Dish doesn't always.
I have no idea how dish is as far as making "special" deals to get a package that's perfect for you.
If you let Direct TV know you have not decided and what your wants are they will do there best to get your business.
Don't believe those who say they won't let you do this or that as far as a package. I had it before I moved and they would do anything I wanted to keep my biz.
Of course a motor driven 8 foot dish would be best of all..

...i had DISH for about 2 1/2 to 3 years. I switched to DIRECTTV for THREE reasons:

    a. the MLS package on Dish only had saturdays, vs DirectTV had midweek and Sunday matches as well

    b. DISH did not carry the U-21 qualifying (from SC), Direct did,

    c. US vs Canada, DIRECTV only...

    three strikes they were OUT
