How much $$$ will the direct kick package will cost this season?. I will definetly buy it, but has it gone up? Thanks Juan Luis Guerra & 440 band. If you want to see my website go to: www.guavaberry.net
Re: How much $$$ will the direct kick package will cost this season? I don't think they've anounced it. IIRC it was $79 last season.
Re: How much $$$ will the direct kick package will cost this season? Not to jack the thread, but it's somewhat related. I'll be picking up DK again as well, but wonder if there has been any word on an increased quality MLSlive.tv? Burning questions....maybe we should contact that @#*%wit Jim Rome?
Re: How much $$$ will the direct kick package will cost this season? It's only $20, isn't it? I'm sure I heard Direct Kick would be free this season...is that likely?
Re: How much $$$ will the direct kick package will cost this season? $20 for web access Usually around $79.00 to get it via cable or sat provider
Re: How much $$$ will the direct kick package will cost this season? Edit nevermind - he was asking about MLSTV and I can't edit/delete posts
Re: How much $$$ will the direct kick package will cost this season? I really wish the quality of the MLSlive.tv would improve. I'd pay 30-40 bucks for a decent feed...with the current setup, I can barely see the ball.
Re: How much $$$ will the direct kick package will cost this season? I don't know if it is my comp or my internet but last year i could only watch a minute or so at a time and then it would stop to buffer which is unbearable. I don't know if anyone else has that problem.
Re: How much $$$ will the direct kick package will cost this season? I do like to watch as many games as possible, but I have always purchased DK so I could simply simply see the Fire play. However *thanks* to Blanco, I can see more Fire matches if I just purchase the Spanish package ala TeleFutura. So nope, not gonna go DK this year. If anything I’ll roll with the Spanish package so I can see the Fire play and spend a LOT less. $15-20 Dollars or less and I’ll be able to see more Fire games than I could last season for the 80 dollar price tag I paid.
Re: How much $$$ will the direct kick package will cost this season? Last years web feed was an abject disaster. You know those highlights of USL-1 they show on the Fox Soccer Report that are clearly broadcast via the internet? The ones that are all herky-jerky and has no fluidity to them, well those were 10x better than my MLS feed. Frankly this year I'm not even gonna spend the money. As an aside it was $79 for the TV version last year and they had some "deal" (term "deal" used loosely) where with about 3 or 4 games left for each team you could get the "second-half of the schedule and the playoffs for only $59". Ya it was way after the halfway mark too. Struck me as a scam, especially considering the internet feed was a joke.
Re: How much $$$ will the direct kick package will cost this season? Wow. Frankly, the $79 fee to see virtually all games during the MLS season is a terrific bargain. The thing I like most about DK is that I can see how the overall league is doing from the perspective of the local team broadcasts. You really do get a different window on how a team and the club is doing. For example, some folks here on BS will rag on a team like San Jose or KC because of their attendance. If you watch their games through their local broadcasts you get a much better insight as to how they are doing.
Re: How much $$$ will the direct kick package will cost this season? If HDnet does not re-sign with MLS, the DK package has a little more value since that is another game that isn't an exclusive (I think most of HDnet games were - maye 50%) and will be on the package. Only 3 national exclusive games (ESPN, FSC, Telefutura) each week this season.
Re: How much $$$ will the direct kick package will cost this season? My guess is that if you are the type of guy that find yourself at home "most Saturdays", then you probably should orde the package, if not you should not. In my case, I will order it because I will stay home most Saturdays when the Redbulls are not playing. I'm getting married sometime this year and I need to save money.
Re: How much $$$ will the direct kick package will cost this season? Not any more. That's what the DVR is for............ Record on Saturday and watch when you get a chance......
Re: How much $$$ will the direct kick package will cost this season? I'd love MLS to pony up the $$$ for Silverlight streaming. The quality is about 100x better and it doesn't need to buffer every few minutes or so. Anyone who watched the olympics online knows how amazing the coverage was. The quality was perfect even when using Philadelphia's garbage free municipal wireless network.
Re: How much $$$ will the direct kick package will cost this season? I agree with the logic and again I like to watch as many MLS games as I can, but I want to be able to watch EVERY Fire game.... Last season, there were multiple fire games, which DK didn't offer. I would like to know how many Fire games will only be shown on Telefutra this season. To DVR as many games as possible = all good, but be able to see fire games cuz i dont live in chicigo and I dont have Telefutura... This is what bothers me. Now if MLS offered a pseudo-DK package where I would be guaranteed to see each and every Fire match - then I'd be happy. Seems the best way to do this based on last season is to sign up for the spanish package.
Re: How much $$$ will the direct kick package will cost this season? The problem is it's like every 'exclusive' game is the Fire - who air on Telefutura. I already have FSC and ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNC.
Re: How much $$$ will the direct kick package will cost this season? They began offering that in the summer at what was really the second half mark, and then kept offering it all the way through the end of the season. It was a good deal when it first began! As an aside, we've had the DK package for many years and have found it strange that they continue to offer it at any price during the last two weeks of the season. It appears they have an announcement pushing the package programmed into the script given to the broadcasters and never bother to take it out, even when it is totally illogical that someone would still sign up.
Re: How much $$$ will the direct kick package will cost this season? Point taken. Dynamo have 6 Telefutura games this year. It could be worse - in the first year in Houston in 2006, there were a few games that were not televised at all (road games), others that were on HDnet only, and few more that were only on DK but not on local Houston TV.
Re: How much $$$ will the direct kick package will cost this season? bump* So the question is do I pay $80 dollars to see teams I really dont care about? Or do I spend $15 or so, get the spanish package ~ where I will be able to see the bulk of Fire games + a lot more? I think this is a fair question to ask. Edit: It's closer to $10 dollars, for the Spanish package, add that to what is shown on espn2, FSC, and Local Media Outlets... Seems if I want to see the Fire play I'm on the right track.
Re: How much $$$ will the direct kick package will cost this season? Without even looking i'm willing to bet 2 of those games are vs. Chicago.
Re: How much $$$ will the direct kick package will cost this season? Certainly a fair question. From my point of view, it's a must have as there are must see match-ups later in the season regardless of the teams. Of course, I don't really have a team of my own and I watch way too much MLS than would be considered healthy. With the DVR working double-time, HDNET, DK, Telefutura and ESPN2 I think I probably watched a good 100 matches or better last year - excluding the playoffs I should get out more ;-)
MLSnet Live.tv for 2009?? I remember sometime last season, maybe the end of last season there was talk that MLS Live would be going to a free format with ads. Is there any news about this? I think its a good idea and brings fans back to watching videos through an MLS portal, instead of on sopcast or justin tv (to name a couple places). Ive always signed up for the online package to support MLS and will do so again this year if its not free. But was curious if it might be free?
My post has nothing to do with the Direct Kick cable tv package. I am talking about the MLS internet feeds.
I just hope the Canadian cable companies start offering MLS packages up here... ...and for some reason, from about October on, none of the video feeds from MLS' site have worked properly on this computer - not even the ExtraTime feeds. I'm not quite sure why - but I'd be somewhat reluctant to sign up for MLSlive again this year if the video won't work in the first place.
