So begins the annual ritual of multiple phone calls trying to convince TWC that they DO carry this package. Apparenty they do not have the codes yet. Anybody else in the Triangle region tried subscribing? Do we need to campaign and/or contact InDemand again?

Actually you would probably do best by cancelling TWC and ordering Dish Network, then you won't have that problem PLUS you'll get GolTV...

Unfortunately (well, it's not really so unfortunate except for this bit), my lot is surrounded by very tall trees.

Perhaps the most distressing part of it is that unlike last year, InDemand isn't responding to my emails.

I have never had a problem in past years getting the package from cable in Raleigh when I ordered it. It's still kind of early though isn't it? As the season gets a bit closer they should have everything in order. That's been my experience anyway.

I just tried to order it through TWC in Raleigh and they said that they would not be carrying Direct Kick this year though lack of interest.

I tried to explain that they have been carrying the package for the last several years and it makes absolutley no sense to cancel it now.

Supposedly someone from their marketing department is going to call me back to discuss this.

I'm hoping this is a a typically screw-up on their part but would like to know if anyone has successfully ordered Direct Kick through Time-Warner in Raleigh?

I have never had to speak to anyone at TWC Raleigh. I have always just ordered the package through the standard toll free automated pay per view line like you call to order any pay per view sports package with a touch tone phone. Does this not work for you? In the past I have just waited until the season starts, first day whatever, and then called the automated line and it comes up right away. I didn't order last year because I'm at most DC home games and since FSW and a couple other channels started covering games I got almost all the away games, unlike years past, but I still saw that it was available on the guide in the 700's channels. Do you have standard or digital cable? If you have digital cable I don't think you should be obstructed with a regional problem.

FYI: I was able to order DirectKick last night/Dish, Philadelphia. $69, and worth every penny.

No, when you call that number it gives you a list of regional cable providers, but Raleigh is not one of them. The Raleigh market is big enough to handle their own orders. The toll free number tells me to contact TWC-Raleigh.

The past two years I've order the package by calling TWC-Raleigh directly and haven't had any problems. However this year, same procedure, and they tell me they decided not to carry it this season.

Now that is sad, sad news. Make sure you write a letter or email telling them how disappointed you are. Even though the numbers may not be great, it never hurts to show how loyal the small following is.

This is ominious. If Time Warner in Raleigh is not going to carry Direct Kick, I cannot imagine Time Warner in Fayetteville will either. Will have to call about it when I get home this afternoon.

Do you rent or own? I know some folks who live out US 64 who have just gone out and mounted their dishes about 30 feet up on pine trees.

Remember the dishes are parabolic, so they tend not to be looking as close to the horizon as you might think.

And I highly recommend Green Tree Experts in Hillsborough as a company who can efficiently handle dish-related tree removal.

Our lot is heavily wooded, as well. And I do have a somewhat weakened signal in the summer because of it. Still, some tactical tree trimming combined with a committed Dish Network installation tech led to one spot in my yard that receives an adequate signal.

    Anything to avoid Time Warner

Why is there always at least one dish person who makes this post in response to a question about cable? I don't get it.

    Sweet!!!

Of course in anticipation on not being able to buy Direct Kick this year I just spent the $69 on season tickets to the CASL Elite PDL team.

Oh well, I guess you can't get enough soccer. :)

That's right, debt is debt--you'll only need to pony up the $179 for the Euro 04, anyway.
