Will be in San Fran this weekend with gal visiting family and friends, and four of us are going to game on Saturday. Wa-hooooooooooooo!!!!!!!! Can someone give me directions to Spartan from San Fran? I'm sure my friends know the highway to take to get to San Jose from San Fran, but once we get there we'll be clueless. Also, with a big crowd, how early should we get there? How much is parking? Is there enough parking? And lastly. Where's the Will Call booth (where I have to pick up my tix) and should I expect a long line? Sorry for all the (anal) questions. What I'm really interested in is the directions. Thanks in advance.
Cool man. Come on by the Club Quake tailgate if you get there early enough and say hi to some of the San Jose BigSoccer regulars. There are two highways you can take from SF to get near Spartan in San Jose. 101 and 280. 280 is easier to get to Spartan, but it may be more difficult to get to, depending on where you are in SF. If you're taking 280 south, get off on 10th Street, turn right at the end of the offramp, and look for the stadium about 1/2 mile down the road on the right. If you're taking 101, take it until it meets 280 in San Jose, then take 280 north to the 10th street exit (I think it's the first one past the 101 interchange), turn left from the offramp, stadium 1/2 mile down the road on the right. Parking. 8 bucks. The 10th street lot is the best for tailgating as it is grass and you don't have to cross any streets or anything to get to the stadium. There is also a lot on 7th street and several other lots across 10th street, near the San Jose Giants baseball stadium, etc. The last home game where we had 14K, the good lots were pretty much full an hour or so before game time. So you may want to get there earlier. More time to hang out at the tailgate. There is a ticket booth on the east side of the stadium (where the 10th street parking lot is). You can pick up your will call tickets there. The line will probably be long unless you get there more than an hour ahead of game time. There is also a ticket booth on the west side of the stadium on 7th street in case you're parked over there. The Club Quake tailgate is in the 10th street lot, close to the stadium entrance. If you're standing in front of the stadium entrance, you will see the ticket booth to your right, and the Club Quake tailgate to the left. We should have the banner up so you should see it. Come on by and have a beer, we like meeting MLS fans from far away, regardless of who they're rooting for.
