Stick with Fox Sports World I think they show the same number of EPL but FSW also show argentine brazilian german and spanish leagues among others so if you want football stick with FSW

I want it soooo bad but it is 265.00. Cant swing that much cash. I already have The NHL package and I dont want a 400.00 bill.

 

I had it last year and it was great. The best EPL matches are on the pay per view package.

But.....

IT IS VERY EXPENSIVE.

So, you have to figure out if it is worth that much to you or not...

It is expensive at $269, but I think they'll break it into 3 installments if you request. That should make it somewhat easier to digest.

mbarloewen is right, the EPL package generally has the best matches. So if you get this package and already have FSW on directv, you get 2 games on both Sat. & Sun, plus the usual Monday game on FSW - 1/2 the league matches every week!

Bottom line: if you like the Premiership, you'll love the ppv package.

 

265 dollars for two games a week is pretty pricey, espicially since I already have NFL Sunday Ticket. If it was every EPL game, then I would reconsider, but for two games a week it sounds like crap to me.

 

It's all how you look at it. You really do get the best games with the combo of the PPV and FSW. I think it happened exactly once last year that a game I wanted badly to see wasn't televised by either option.

You can only watch so much football, 5 games a week is pretty good if you ask me. Especially when you throw in MLS and NFL and my TIVO sure get's a work out.

Even with the NFL package, all the games are generally on at once so you can't watch them all in that case either.

 

I checked the Indemand site and they don't even have a schedule and they mention the Saturday games. I thought you could order one or the other. I just ordered the Sunday games last season but I can order the Saturday games too?

Good point about it being £40 here, but thats only for 40 selected games, usually Sunday 2pm kick-off. But, they are different matches than the 66 shown on Sky Sports.

 

Yeah Sky show 40 Premiership games on their pay-per-view channel (Premiership Plus) for a one off £40 payment and show 66 games on Sky Sports (part of a package, I think its around £36 a month). The Sky Sports subscription is much better value though as they normally show the most attractive matches and show them at better times. Also they show most Champions' League games, and have contracts for Nationwide football, FA Cup football, Carling Cup football, Spanish Primera Liga football, German Bundesliga football, International football, and probably a ton more as well as other sports like Rugby and Cricket.

It seems dumb to me that Sky Sports isn't available over there. You'd be getting the original commentary, presentation, analysis etc from a British viewpoint, in widescreen.
In the UK there's a premium channel called NASN (North American Sports Network) that carries programming from the US sports networks (NFL, NHL, MLB, Nascar, etc). The channel has become pretty popular as it carries the original US coverage as shown on American TV (stuff like the pre-show, commentary, analysis, screen graphics - everything), so its popular with ex-pats. Same with Sky's NFL coverage - they keep the original commentary and screen graphics in tact. I would've thought the same would be done for UK sport over there.

Does Time Warner Cable offer the same PPV package? I've only seen it advertised by DH and directv?

Time Warner' s package offers a weekly Sunday match only and costs about $140. It's cheaper to wait for the midweek re-broadcast on FSW!

 

FSW uses the original match commentary and graphics. But they have different intros and halftime stuff.

I think it's a rip off for only a couple games a week. Sure, you can't watch all of the NFL games if you have Sunday Ticket, but at least you can channel flip and they have channels that give you scores for multiple games and stuff like that.

Aren't a lot of the games on the EPL package shown tape-delayed on FSW a few days later? FSW ends up showing something like 5 or 6 matches a week. I would assume that Man U-Arsenal game was live on PPV, but it's being shown by FSW.

You asked if we can watch all NFL games live. Sort of. Basically, the NFL is in four time slots -- 1 p.m, 4 p.m., and 8:30 p.m. on Sundays, and 9 p.m. on Mondays. Usually, 4-7 games are at 1, another 4-7 at 4 p.m., 1 at 8:30, and then the Monday night game. For about $200, we can get all of the games, but since they are going on simultaneously, you are either channel flipping or following your favorite team. The service is popular because the NFL has rules about which game is shown in which city. If you live in or near (within 100 miles) a city with a team, you are forced to watch that teams game, and there can be no other game shown opposite it (unless you spend the $200). If the local team's game is not sold out, then you get to watch Beverly Hills Cop III while your neighbor with the satellite laughs at you.

Yes, I am bitter, because I get stuck watching the Cowboys and the Texans every single week.

 

Blackout rules for NFL broadcasts apply to Satellite as well as local broadcasts. If you're in the team's market and the home game is not sold out, nobody there gets to watch it.

i paid less than that for an annual suscrption 2 watch the english league and champions league and others!
i thought that TV is cheap in USA and u can get anything u like (porn, sport, wrestling and movies) for at most $30 a month!

 

$270 is for the season not the month. Its PPV 2 games a week.
