    Re: Klimovicz

I watched him a bit when he was at Wolfsburg before and after they got D'allesandro and while he was never going to compete with Crespo, he reminded me a lot of Cavenaghi in size and style. I believe he's playing at Borrusia Dortmund these days but I really don't know how he's doing. I'm pretty sure he's pushing into the mid 30's age range so NT prospects are probably slim if at all. FYI the spelling is with a W not a V although the pronunciation of the W in german is as a V.

For several reasons, Diego "El Granadero" Klimowicz never got his NT chance. He was by far the best striker to come out of from a cordobes team (in this case Instiputo) in the last 15-20 years. He was good at everything: technique, heading, pace, dribbling, positioning. But it's true he didn't excel in any of these. On the other hand, he's been one of the most consistent Argentine strikers in the last 10 years (bar one or two poor seasons). I think he was a missed opportunity and I agree with Moishe regarding his NT prospects.

I would probably have him in a similar regard as Julio Cruz. Unlike Cruz (who did generally well for the NT), Klimowicz never had a chance. That's a shame.
