Only if you are sure that I am not a scicophrenic part of you! ;-)

Anyways, I think you'll do just fine now that he's back...

Looks like Basteurk will start on the subs bench.

I still think Zecke should be in there instead of Schroeder, Schroeder's alright, but Zecke is a more experienced and better player (not to mention, more fun to watch ;) )

Can anyone help translate for me? I've heard about a rumor about Argentine Daniel Bilos...but nothing yet.

I don't think this article is much...but any translation help would be welcome. :)

    Nur kein Alibi-Transfer

    Berliner Morgenpost

Hertha's number 9 isn't taken, they have three weeks left before the closing of the transfer market. If they were in Bremens place, things would be much simpler. With a 0-0 last day draw to Hannover, Berlin missed their chance of gaining a champions league spot. With one goal more, Hertha could have been able to finance the purchase of a top-class striker.

Hertha manager Uli Hoeness said "If we are going to buy a striker for Hertha, he must fill three characteristics : he must be better than the strikers we have, his character must fit that of Hertha and he needs to be financially affordable.".

Due to Nanado Rafael getting European status, it means there is a new spot available in the side for a non-European. Well, only for one season, as next season, only three overseas players may be fielded on each team. Then it is better, if South Americans like Daniel Bilos(24) are able to get a European passport. The 1m 94 who saw hoeness and trainer Falko Gotz in Amsterdam, has a Croatian passport, therefore is available to play as much as he wants in Europe. Good basis for a transfer.

The next paragraph is not too useful for you and is a bore to translate so i won't.

Hertha is unable to compete for the the biggest strikers on line in Europe. A Milan Baros(23) is outside the limits of Hertha's transfer money. With Swiss striker Alexander Frei(26) of Rennes, it is no different. "When we first joined in in negotiations, what was necessary financially immediately came up, and we realised straight away that no transfer could be made."

Even a less spectacular transfer such as that of Walter Pandiani(29) from Deportivo to Birmingham city would pass Hertha's transfer money abilities. The 12th place finishing premiership club paid 4,33 million for the transfer.

then they talk about Pantelic, a godd striker with good statistics etc, etc and he would be a good ubuy and affordabel, etc etc.

You can rep me if you wish :D

Fathi is out of the lineup! I think we're gonna change to 3-5-2, so I guess Basturk will start out after all!

    -----------------Tremmel-----------------

    Friedrich----------Simunic-----------van Burik?

    ------------------N.Kovac----------------

    Marx--------------------------------Gilberto

    ----------Basturk-----------Marcelinho-----

    ----------Rafael-----------Wichniarek-------

Wait, theres something wrong here...way too many attackers....maybe Gilberto LB?? Ahhh so confusing.. :(

And any hope for Roque moving this year has been scuppered...the striker search will end when we decide not to go for Marko Pantelic, I just know it.
this club seemingly has no ambition whatsoever.

Good news! Hertha #1 Christian Fiedler back in training, won't play a part against Frankfurt.

On the other hand, Tremmel had a good game against Hannover...didn't make a mistake really. If he does well against Frankfurt, which he should, then I won't be too concerned if Fiedler goes down again, which I hope he doesn't.

Hertha BSC Berlin 2-0 Eintracht Frankfurt

Good win today, I guess I was wrong about Schroeder, he scores his first ever goal for Hertha. Kevin Boateng made his debut. Attendance 45000

Hey guys! Im back in Berlin from my European vacation, and just in time to be one of the 49,000 (thats what they announced) in Olympiastadion to watch Hertha beat Frankfurt 2-0 yesterday for my last Bundesliga game before I have to go home to Seattle in 17 days. Had great fun as always, and the second half was much better than the first. I think after Basturk game in I can totally see what an asset he is to this team. Anyways, a bad post I know, but I just wanted to say hello and that Im back.

Hey welcome back I was getting lonely.

I'm actually on vacation right now in the Cape and there is no internet in this godforsaken place ;). But I am happy with the way things are, although hearing that Gilberto is out for some time is bad news for sure. Hopefully Zecke or Oliver Schroeder will fill in nicely.

I'll be back for real on Sunday. Don't miss me too much ;)

Zecke is mo than capable of filling Gilberto's place.

Imo Gilberto is too inconsistent, his kicker marks if you pay attention to them are always all over the place each different week.

there's a rumour going around that Hertha are after Real Madrid's Javier Portillo to solve their striker-problem.

Just to correct some mis-information here:

Borgetti went to EPL club Bolton Wanderers. The Arab league stuff was likely a rumour to force prices up, i doubt he ever seriously considered transfering there.

Bolton also very much fits his playstyle ( on paper, anyway ). I'm still somewhat disappointed though, in Berlin i coulda seen him a couple times at least, before i go back to Lagos. Oh well, gotta download some torrents i guess :(

Borgetti is being tipped to be a top scorer at Bolton this year, but there are plenty of people who think he's overrated based on the Confederations Cup display. You're right though that his style is well fit for Bolton - they are set piece specialists, he'll be able to head home plenty of crosses.

Oh and by the way I am posting here becuase I am a Hertha fan of course! I studied in Berlin for a year and a half and lived 10 minutes from Olympiastadion. Unfortunately I havent been following Hertha too closely, but I hope to start again as this year progresses.
