MLSnet.com say there were a whole 8,000 on hand.

What the crap? Do we suck that bad?

2 weeks ago, we had nearly 22,000!

My best guess would be the afternoon game. No doubt, a good majority of the patrons are soccer players in youth leagues or whatever, themselves. 2:00 sort of conflicts with youth soccer matches.

7:00 should be the mandatory start time.

I missed the game for a soccer game of my own today... not that I missed alot, though.

It was the 2 pm start that was the problem. Youth players, coaching, the freakin heat in the high altitude sun. I hold 4 season ix and I don't go to 2 pm games.

The Rapids FO needs to find out when they're going to be on ESPN and make that game the "free jersey" game... The stadium was a ghost town.

Despite the low attendance, I have to commend the "band" that I heard playing on the telecast. I've always thought that a small group playing some horns would be just something that would inspire fans and hopefully players. While it did some a little unrehearsed at times, I really liked it and hope to hear more at later matches.

The marching band did the National Anthem and I guess decided or were asked to play while they watched. It was alright I guess but if it became routine I'd like to hear music that fit the event a little bit more than it did.

Anyways, it was pretty hot out there and Saturday afternoons are pretty busy for most families so I wasn't surprised.

I agree, the music was a bit sporadic, but I always thought a small group of horns would be really cool. I only wish I would've learned the trumpet, a small band is a really great idea I think for the game.

It really was a great day for working outside, and the 2pm kickoff wasn't really ideal for most people to attend.

Yeah, so nobody shows up on both the 2pm game and also nobody shows up on the game that was previously jersey nite!

the front office should be happy that only 8ooo people saw that game. oh, that's right, the game was on national tv, where tens of thousands of people were able to witness the team fall apart again.

if counce can't figure out a way to get people to the stadium and can't put a decent team on the field, what good is he?

Well, I do need to say that over 20K were sold for both Saturday night contests this season. I have no idea if that's Counce, nor do I need to. Have a feeling it's the sales staff though. Decent team: there is one if they play as one.

I believe we were head to head with the pet rocks as well... At least the supporters section was entertaining...

Guys, afternoon games NEVER sell. Call it the curse of being in 'God's Country' or whatever, there's just too much stuff to DO on sunny afternoons, as opposed to sitting and watching a game. Granted, the Rocks can draw fans, but then it's part of baseball tradition to soak up the sun, and a few beers, they certainly haven't been shy about fleeing during rain delays.

I hear that. I made the trip there on Thursday, and half the 8,000 who were there (weekends they do okay) took off after the first delay, never mind the second when I had to leave

Also, Rocks attendance so far is down over 10%, according to the Post. :D

You missed Cletus pointing at his fat stomach and Pope taunting the 2-0 score over me.
