I also posted this on the UEFA board. But I am wondering if Pavel Nedved still received a Champions League winner's medal, regardless of the fact that he was suspended for the final. A friend of mine says he doesn't get one and he never went up on the podium with the rest of the team. However, it seems to me that he should be elligible to receive one just the same. Can anyone answer this for certain?
I can't believe that. I've seen everybody and his brother on those podiums, even players who aren't dressed for the final. I find it hard to believe this would be the case.
Whoops! Please allow me correct myself. I mean a Champions League runner-up medal. I forgot that Juve lost in the final. Duh.
Nedved's medal I'm almost certain he received his runners-up medal. He was a huge leader for the team in del Piero's abscence and proved himself to be one of the world's leading midfielders. If only he could have played the results would have been different. Forza Juve!
Would he even want the medal? I wouldn't think it's the kind of thing players on a team like Juve would be too enamored with. I actually recall some of the players taking their medals off after recieving them.
