We'll all have to watch 60 Minutes on Sunday to find out if this Drudge Report story is true.

    Be proud, America. Be proud.

Anybody who is fanatical about religion is a jerkoff. I don't care what religion it is holy war my ass.

Now if you are a fanatic about soccer, that I can understand because the game is beautiful, sometimes.

Consider the source - Falwell is a lunatic. Of course the foreign press will eat this up and portray him as a close advisor of the president. Count on it. Jeez, what next?

What's next? Maybe conservatives pretending that Barbra Streisand is the unquestioned leader of the Democractic Party? Oops, already happened...

Well, she does open her cakehole pretty often. Whatever happened to knowledgeable people from both major parties speaking out on the isssues? It seems all we have now are the celebrity jackasses.

Well, let's see if Falwell gets his own personal skybox at the next convention, like the one Babs had at the Staples Center in 2000.

In support of George W. Bush's campaign, Falwell formed "People of Faith 2000,'' a seven-month drive to register at least 10 million new voters by urging pastors to solicit their support during church meetings.

I'm well aware of Falwell's support of Bush. I mean, who's he going to support? Nader?

It still doesn't mean that he is a "close advisor" to the President, or that anyone thinks that Barbra Streisand is the "unquestioned leader" of the Democratic Party.

People post threads like these because their statements or mistakes are outrageous, and everyone likes a bit of schadenfreude now and then.

But joe likes to extrapolate that conservatives think Babs is some Democratic leader.

I'm reminded of a Dennis Miller bit -- "other than telling you how to live your life, Barbra Streisand doesn't want a fucking thing to do with you."

Are you intending this post to be completely unrelated to the post you previously cited or is it just me?

Comparing these two is the equivalent of Apples and Oranges. One is a leader of stupid people, one is an elitist who couldn't lead anyone who wasn't on her payrool. One is a racist inbred idiot, while the other one is a self absorbed idealist.

Well, let's see if Babs runs for President on the Dem ticket like Falwell's dopey twin Pat Robertson did for Reps.

And got his ass kicked pretty soundly, which shows how much of the GOP follows the 700 morons.

BTW, did Muslims begin to invade other countries and forcibly converting the inhabitants to Islam before or after Mohammed's death? I don't know the answer, I'm asking.

So that means you'll stop ranting about Jesse Jackson and the Dems seeing as he's gotten his ass kicked several times, right?

    I didn't think so. *sigh*

Anyway, I doubt Babs would pull many votes for Pres in the Dems party.

And was it before or after Christians began to invade other countries and forcibly convert the inhabitants to Christianity. I know it was after Christ, but I'm not sure if it was before the Muslims did it.

You mean, did they go on "crusades" like European Christians did? I don't think so, but someone can correct me if I'm wrong.

The scary thing isn't that he said it. It's that when it gets played on the TV on Sunday evening, millions of Americans who regularly watch the 700 Club will sit on their Barca-Loungers and nod silently as they take his interpretation of Islam as the only one with merit.

Mohammed launched many battles against non-believers, converting them. The Koran also says 'Let there be no coercion in faith!'. Oh, well.

    Well, at least a million:

    http://www.loper.org/~george/trends/2001/Oct/35.html

"Whatever message 'The God Squad' spreads, 'The 700 Club' can spread its message further. By contractual obligation, the CBN program airs on the Fox Family Channel, which Walt Disney Co. agreed to acquire in July. It is also broadcast on TV stations and other religious TV networks across the U.S., and says its daily average audience numbers more than one million viewers."

Note that that's daily, so even if they're fudging by half the average weekly viewers has got to be a couple million.

Mohammed was a bit of a bastard - so were Joshua, David, Martin Luther, dozens of Popes, etc. etc.

Jesus seemed like a nice enough guy. Gautama was probably the coolest of the world's religious leaders, though.

Falwell called Mo a pedophile a while back, as well.

I'm still waiting to see why he's allowed back in the public discourse after his cracks about 9/11 coming from God, though. When Rush Effin' Limbaugh publicly denounces you, that should be a hint.

The time has come, by the way, for Mike and the bots to do episodes of the 700 Club. At LEAST, they should MiSTie "Left Behind" starring Kirk Cameron.

    Just answer me this:

If Jesus slapped Mohammed upside the head would M. turn the other cheeck or throw down.

If you say throw down, you agree with Falwell.

    Uh...he'd probably throw down pre-emptively.

Wouldn't he? Have I got the wrong Mohammed? Or am I thinking of Muhammad Ali?
