    This is the most since the short seasons started. The previous record was 46 in '99 I believe. Regardless, it was 46.

    Récord de goles en la jornada 13

    Los 50 goles de los 10 juegos de esta jornada del Clausura'04 igualaron la marca que está vigente desde hace 59 años, en la temporada 1945-46, y además impusieron una nueva marca para los torneos cortos del fútbol mexicano.

    Los anales del fútbol mexicano registraron una jornada de 50 goles en la temporada de 1945-46, un torneo que tuvo 16 equipos con 30 jornadas y que fue ganada por el Veracruz.

    En los torneos cortos iniciados en 1996, la cifra representa ya una nueva marca al superar por cuatro los 46 que se registraron en la octava jornada del Invierno'99, una liga que fue ganada por el Pachuca.

    Sanchez critices Mexican goal record

    UNAM coach Hugo Sanchez complained on Thursday that too many goals were scored in the Mexican championship last weekend.
    The 10 matches produced a record 50 goals between them, with the scorelines including one of 6-3, one of 6-0, one of 4-4 and one of 4-3. Four players scored hat-tricks.
    'For me, there's nothing marvellous about scoring so many goals,' said the former Real Madrid and Mexico striker whose own team had a 1-0 win at Necaxa.

    I saw the interview last night on Contacto Deportivo.

    I am really losing any respect I had for that guy. He complains about everything under the sun.

    Um no, I saw about 30 of the goals, and he is right, defensive howlers they were!

    Maybe, but the third Veracruz goal was pure genius.

    There were only 44 "legit" goals, as five were penals and one was an autogol.
