Did anyone hear??? i was talking to my dad day before yesterday about the Gold Cup and Radio Unica's broadcast of the final against Brasil. He said that at the end right after Osorno scored the golden goal, Jorge Ramos shouted "VIVA MEXICO CABRONES!!!" Did anybody else hear that? I'd kill to get an audiofile of that. ricv56
WOW, that has to be the single most awesome thing I have ever heard on a soccer game. That guy rules.
Jorge Ramos is probably the best mexican football commentator in the US loved him when he was on Telemundo
he actually said "somos campeones!" instead of viva Mexico. "Cabrones" literally means "goats," but functionally what Ramos said would be the equivalent of an English-language announcer saying "We're the champions you sons of bitches!!!" or "We're the champions you bastards!!" but not quite as extreme as "We're the champions motherfuckers!!" I'm sure there's someone here who could put a finer point on it. ricv56
Actually, I think it would be closer to saying "We're the champs, mother************ers!!!!" as in not calling anyone a mother************er but just saying mother************ers out loud. It's definitely considered vulgar and improper. And therefore, super badass.
thanks, bud. first post in, and i already got to expound on the nuances of mother************er!!!!! i love this place already. seriously that call by Jorge Ramos is one of the greatest things ever.
Jorge Ramos What a great game Chivas-UNAM only made greater by the fact that Jorge Ramos got to do play by play. However at the end of the match he said that it would be his last match and was not sure if he will continue on Telefutura. I sincerly hope he does...
If you want to reach a largest piece of the Pie? YES ramos, put Intensity and passion back into the play by Play....as cantor Once did It.
Re: Jorge Ramos Me too. I like the way he will sometimes break into English: "Here comes the BULLET!" "Thank you Kara!" "Oh, please, shut your mouth you are driving me crazy!" "Hmmm. Let us see!" It's for all of us "Que Pasa, USA?" fans!
