Apparently they played this afternoon at 2pm Atlanta time. http://www.womensoccer.com/refs/univs/ncaa_refs/ncaa-clembea_2apr04.html
This was the first I heard about it, other than the mention that they were planning on playing a game against Clemson.
Good game! The lady Tigers looked terrific. 0-0 at the half with the Tigers dominating play. Clemson scored first in the second half on a free kick in the box after a defensive error. The Beat came back strong and finally put one in the back of the net with about 2 minutes remaining. Looked like the Beat wanted to finish things off with golden goal overtime. First 10 minutes of overtime was all Clemson with the Lady Tigers showing great pressure and holding the Beat to little or no possesion. Guess they figured 1-1 was better than a loss at that point becuase the game was called after that first 10 minute overtime. Atlanta 1 Clemson 1
ARRRRRRRRRRRRRGH!!!! I wanted to go to this game but I didn't know when it was scheduled. This was the first time that I heard about it. If the Beat wants to maintain fan interest, they have to let their fans know about games like this. They have the email addresses of the season ticket holders though I don't know if anyone is still around to send out the emails. Oh well, maybe next time.
Do the Beat have any infrastructure left? Who would we contact to find out about when these games are scheduled? Anybody have any ideas?
