I was tired last night and went to sleep early. Just woke up to something I never thought I would see. Holy ********ing shit! People really really did just vote for Trump! What the ******** is going on in America?!
Lotsa people who weren't picked up in polls pulled the lever for DJT. Was polling around 41-42% and wound up around 48%. 538 blog was one of few over weekend who came out of the 90s for Hillary and down into the 60s. They saw something out there most pollsters didn't And yes, it's OK to be afraid today.
I saw read something a few months ago about why the polls might have gotten it wrong. It was called the Bradley effect after the election contest of John Bradley, a black mayoral candidate. Pollsters had him winning easily but the polls weren't accurate. After researching they found out why. White voters said they were going to vote for him, but didn't. They didn't want to appear racist so they lied to pollsters. That's how they got it wrong and, I theorize, how the pollsters got this one wrong.
I wonder if people who voted for Trump, really thought that Trump was going to win. I wonder if, today, they might have that feeling that Brexit 'Yes' voters felt when they saw that Britain actually voted out.
We deserved this. Not Trump, specifically, but we deserved to see that this country isn't what many of us thought it was. The majority of people in this country are likely to willingly elect an openly racist, sexist, anti-science, lying, know-nothing demagogue to be the leader of the free world. Donald Trump will represent our democratic republic to the rest of the world, and will likely make decisions that will alter the fundamental nature of our supposed way of life. We've seen men like him before in other nations and laughed, thinking we'd never have such an unqualified, hateful person lead us, yet here we are. We cannot pretend that we're the greatest country on earth. As for my own self, I'll continue to fight for the country I believe in, not the one we've shown ourselves to be this evening. I have a wonderful fiancé and a good life, but this is not the direction of the country I expected or wished for.
Maybe, or maybe the people of this country were tired of the political machine. I still don't think people voted for Trump as much as they voted against Clinton.
Unfortunately, Not-Clinton was not on the ballot, so they actually did vote for an orange clown. Whether they prefer to pretend otherwise isn't really anyone else's problem.
Sure it was. There were other options other than her and those were chosen. They thought Trump was a better choice than the career politician. That's how this works.
Well actually, Americans voted for Hillary Clinton, but the electoral system translated her victory into a loss. Just to be clear.
No I didn't. There is a clear difference between voting for someone as opposed of voting against someone else. Motivation is something you apparently don't understand.
This is my headline. Yours may vary... Motivated by 25 years of Clinton hatred and 8 of the Kenyan Islamofascistcommunist, America's butthurt uneducated white population Made America Grate Again.
Still don't understand why people hate Hillary so much? At least as much that they'd vote for Trump instead.
People blaming Florida. I'm from Florida and I didn't vote for Trump. Why not blame Pennsylvania or Wisconsin, or even Ohio instead?
Shows how much I know. But regardless, it brought Fables of Faubus into my head, sign of the times maybe.
