Mathis gaining "European interest"? Sorry, I don't think the National Enquirer has a link to its stories.

no, the story is actually there, I've read it on planetfootball. 5 English teams are interested in Mathis, the best player in MLS. It's no surprise. Obviously, Nick and OZ haven't clouded anyone's opinion on Clint. I can't say the same for some of you on here.

The interest in Mathis was always there. Whether he's gaining interest, I don't know. While he's become more of a project for any prospective European team, the flip side is that MLS may be much more willing to part with Mathis.

And he wasn't making the Senagal national team because of the inferior quality of MLS. This overseas transfer should help.

Actually, that's not completely true. He didn't get called up because he didn't play in France. Every Senegalese World Cup player played in France. Metsu, the coach is French and lives in France. Consequently, he only took French-based players. Had Diallo gotten the season long loan to Metz FC that he wanted last year, odds are he would have been called up.

Actually, all but two of the Senegalese players were from French teams. Backup goalkeeper played in Morrocco and one of the forwards played for Jean of Arc which is a Senegalese side. FYI, Ndiaye was actually included onto the team via the grandfather. His first visit to Senegal was when he received his first cap for the national team.

Had Diallo gotten the season long transfer to Metz, it may have hurt his chances of playing for Senegal more than playing in MLS. Metz were relegated to Ligue 2. His playing in MLS didn't hurt him as much as you think. Senegal having a good group of forwards ahead of him is what did him in. Personally, I would have liked to see him play for Senegal but their not having him didn't hurt them. They were done in by their Fitness.

Well Big Mama, thank you for the 11 goals for Metro, wished that the goals would have produced for the final three matches of the season. I won't forget the big 4 goals against LA at Giants Stadium.

Enjoy the sand & the sand of Saudi Arabia. Shouldn't have MLS upped the bid since Suadi Arabia is so wealthy? Say maybe a cool Million or two? That would be wonderful.

I'm not going to believe this until I see it announced by the league. I just have bad nightmares of Hurtado to Switzerland or where ever it was we had supposedly sent him to.

"Meanwhile, English clubs are growing in interest for Work Permit-eligible Clint Mathis, who has been on the receiving end of angry comments about his conduct in the latter half of this season from under-fire manager Octavio Zambrano, and general manager Nick Sakiewicz."

Hey Rick, nice to see you again, and tell me, if the A-League is so frigging great, when is a foreign club going to offer $800,000 for Iggy Moleka?

Iggy just retired, but not before he dominated the Stars back in August.

When did we sell Tim Howard?

Diallo was voted by the media as the Honda MVP. Howard was voted Defender of the Year.

By the way, you may be in the process of selling Howard to the Dutch team is is now training with (in lieu of training with the Stars).

Who the heck are "the Stars"?

But this does bring us to the Worst Case Scenario that I predicted earlier: loosing Diallo, Mathis, and Howard in the offseason.

We don't have the GM/Coach in place now that can rebuild us from such a devastating blow.
