How does the previous years Allstar MVP and 1 of top scoring leaders, who also has 11 goals, & 3 assists not make the Allstar team? Not even as a reserve. He is 5th in total points and has 2 Player of the week awards this season.

... and the 4 strikers picked over him are 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th in total points.

    (Moved to MLS General)

and Diallo is also pretty much hurt, he had to come off in the 38th minute today.

and he's been hurt for a little bit now, he's been fighting it but he's not getting better.

so what good would having him on the team do?

If he wasnt voted in as an All-Star then there was no way in hell he was going to make it as a reserve. Garber wouldnt select Diallo with all the trouble he hasnt gotten into with ejections and suspensions.

Justify Diallo starting over Twellman, Ruiz, Kreis, and Graziani, not just what Diallo's own merits are. Personally, I don't see anything in his play this year to rate him above said 4 strikers.

Diallo should be in the All-star joke game. He is definitely one of the best forwards in MLS if not the best. He is not up there in points because he has'nt played in all games due to suspensions and injuries. Diallo is a explosure, and powerful player. If he played in as many games as Twellman and Ruiz, he would be even with or have more goals than those two.

Who cares anyway. All-star games are a joke. Every year theres a debate on who should be in or not be in. Let the coaches pick the players. They know the game and the players. Not the fans or boneheads like Garber. No votes allowed to fans or the MLS commissioner.

Landon Donovan was last year's All-Star MVP.

stop confusing the issues with facts. Diallo's good ... but as said the other four are having better years. somebody deserving always gets left out of every all-star game in every sport. and yet, amazingly, life goes on.

I think they're afraid he'll freak out and eat all of the members of the National All-Stars team.

That, and the fact that he wasted 7 games (all of them starts) at the beginning of the year, getting 19 shots on goal in 488 minutes and scoring...

    1 goal.

    But he did notch...

    1 assist

    during that time.

Maybe that's a better excuse for ya.

This comment makes the existance of this thread worthwhile.

Diallo is an amazing goal-scorer, when he's on his game. When he's off, he's nothing special, and with his temper-tantrums is a threat to the safety of goalies. The four chosen ahead of him are ahead of him stats wise. The guy who has had streaks where he didn't play well, and has missed games due to suspensions (are we really going to say, "he would've scored more goals had he not been red carded and suspended by the league" as a legit excuse for why he's not higher up in the scoring ranks?). It just doesn't make sense to include him in the All-Star game, when you look at the whole picture.

maybe because Twellman and Ruiz are alot better and Graz as a sub is just as good. Plus, i dont think Yallop could understand the jibberish that comes out of Diallo's mouth.

Does that mean Ray Hudson or Veronica Paysse won't be at the game either?
