Vfl Bochum 1848 0:2 VfB Stuttgart in full time. Perfect header by Deniz at 47' put us in an unassailable position and we just saw it out from there. Very professional performance by the Good Guys. On to the quarterfinals we go.
KSV 0:3 VfB in full time. The match was much closer than that, 1-0 from Deniz's scrappy goal at 56' until Führich scored on a beautiful through ball from Undav at 89'. Karazor put the icing on the cake at 90'+2' with an almost comically lucky score. Worth checking the highlights. We were content to keep KSV pinned in their own end for most of the match. It was bitterly cold too, about -10° C (about 14° F) at kickoff, which may have contributed to state of play. Very hard to go on too many lung-busting runs. Full credit to Kiel, they tried everything they could and came very close to leveling the match a couple times late. They just couldn't find the magic key to escape our press and couldn't find the one shot they needed the few times they did. Good to see they won and move forward. I couldn't watch this match because Valencia was playing at the same time, and I watched them drop out of the Copa del Rey in a 1-2 home loss to cup specialists Athletic Bilbao. Now that Feyenoord and Valencia are both out of their domestic cups, I will follow VfB as they move on in the DFB Pokal.

VfB hosting SC Freiburg at the MHP Arena today. VfB give up a goal to Freiburg (Eggestein) in the 28th minute. Currently 0-1 in the 44th minute.
Yeah, I woke up late from my nap and only started watching in the second half. Freiburg GK is keeping them in this match. Going to extra time.
VfB playing at Bayern Munich today at 2:00 for the Pokal Championship on ESPNU, ESPN Deportes, and ESPN+. It should not be a surprise that Bayern is heavily favored. Come on boys, win this one for Kevin!
Yeah, I have three matches starting all at the same time, Valencia, Mallorca, and VfB. I am going to watch Valencia live and the other two on replay if the results are favorable. I suspect Bowel Movement will win the DFB Pokal.
It looks like Chabot may have to leave with a knock of some kind. That will not be good for VfB's defense.
Well, Chabot made it through the first half. Will he be able to play in the second half? VfB have managed to threaten on offense - actually forcing more saves than BM and earning more corner kicks. The defense has kept BM at bay, so far, but Bayern has so many weapons, it really is scary. VfB will really need to stay on top of their game, with no mistakes, if they're going to win a second Pokal Cup in a row.
After a YC on Chris Führich, BM score on a cross to an unmarked Harry Kane. There's the mistake, and now VfB must play catch-up. That's a hard task in Munich.
Kane with a brace, now 2-0 BM in the 82nd minute. Chabot with a yellow. You can stick a fork in 'em, our boys are done.
Hat trick for Kane off of a handball PK. 3-0 BM in the 90th +2, and I'm out. Better luck next year, boys!
