Today, Eintracht Braunschweig - VfB Stuttgart, at 13:45 CDT so 14:45 EDT. Says it is being carried by ESPN+ but I haven't logged in to that yet to confirm.
It's on ESPN. I upgraded to ESPN Unlimited, but in the past all Bundesliga matches were on ESPN+ (which I think they gave a different name to now), and that included all DFB-Pokal matches, too. I'll be around for this one, team!
I checked. Its on ESPN+ also. ESPN+ is $11/month or $10/month if you make an annual payment. That contrasts with ESPN which is $30/month. But ESPN+ has been loaded up with questionable programming, i.e., kind of like the dumping ground. For example, this Sunday, there are maybe 3 Bundesliga matches, 2 Dutch Eredivisie, 4 La Liga, 20 NCAA Men's soccer matches, and 75 NCAA Women's soccer matches. Yup, I counted them: 75 NCAA Women's soccer matches. Who is watching those? I fully expect ESPN to ditch the + channel next season and force everyone into the higher-priced ones. The old cable model of 3,000 channels for $185/month is coming back. They will load ESPN with stuff that few watch just so they can justify ridiculous pricing. At that point, I am GONE.
11' Mittelstadt cross headed in by Demirovic, 1-1. Keep the ball away from Nubel, and VfB might win this match.
Whew! Maybe now Nubel's head is in the match. Two mistakes made; the first was flubbing that back pass that luckily dribbled out of bounds rather than ricocheting off the attacker into the goal. The second was that shot going through his hands. Must have been a knuckle ball.
Assignon got the announcer's curse there. As soon as his praises were sung, he got caught out of position. (He is having a great shift, though. Dude can burn. Great feet, too.)
Well, VfB weren't ready for the start of this season. Lost to BM in the Whatever Cup, lost to Union Berlin, and now lost to 2.B club. I guess this ends the DFB Pokal 2025-2026 thread really quickly.
