Darmstadt were so close, always tough to go out on a penalty shootout. But much respect to the Lillies for holding Wolfsburg scoreless and making this a well fought battle throughout.
Top goal of the DFB-Pokal so far. Arminia Bielefeld's Fabian Klos with this amazing strike against SV Sandhausen.
Bremen should have been watching Illertissen he last few years. Bayer's stacked second team had issues with them in the RL, as did Sechzig's. They are a formidable team and have only gotten stronger. They are certainly a minnow that can bite back.
Werder was prepared for Illertissen, who played a good match. The problem was IMO the heads of most of our players (i.e. Fritz even lost his nerves before the match because he was asked by reporters so often about the cup exits. So he refused to give any interviews, even after the match). Werder failed 3 times in row in the first round and is besides the team with the 2nd most cup wins behind Bayern also the BL team with most first round knock-offs. Indeed the momentum and Illertissens lack of stamina in extra-time were this time on our side.
Interesting doings in Monday's games. Heidenheim have already beat Union Berlin, 2:1 Two games going to penalties: Kickers Offenbach 0:0 Ingolstadt Energie Cottbus 2:2 Hamburg (1:1 after 90 minutes) And in the evening match, 1st half: Dynamo Dresden 1:0 Schalke
Hamburg advanced after penalties, while Ingolstadt struggled after penalties at Kickers Offenbach. @unclesox: You were some seconds faster.
Quality strike on Dynamo's second goal but did it go out before the cross was made? So 5 top flight clubs have bit the dust: Stuttgart Paderborn Mainz Augsburg Schalke And the lowest tiered clubs to survive are 3 from the Regionalliga: Magdeburg Würzburger Kickers Kickers Offenbach

How are Wolfsburg doing so far in the DfB-Pokal? I've been a VfL Wolfsburg fan since 2010 although I am currently on a 2 season-long exile to Arsenal until Fox Sports' new U.S.A. TV deal starts in August 2015 (can't wait!!! ), then I will be back to watching Der Grun-Weisses VfL, for the first time since getting a virus in my PC from one of those illegal streaming sites at the beginning of the 2013-14 season in our very first match of that season away to Hannover 96 at AWD Arena, I look forward to being able to watch Wolfsburg again as long as FOX puts us on, whether it be on TV or online on Fox Sports Go, and hopefully they'll offer the same league-wide coverage of the Bundesliga that NBC Sports has done here in America with the EPL, and official at that too. IMMER NUR DU VfL!!!
Wolfsburg leading 1-0 via penalty, but at the same time SC Freiburg was denied a clear penalty. Bayern...äääh Wolfsburg bonus?
