With the increase of developtmental players increasing from four last year to six this year, I have a question. Are we seeing the slow establishment of a reserve team system? If the constant increase of developtmental players increases each year by two, in a few years we would be there. I am not sure what type of leage they would play in, PDL/D-3/A-league/ or a straight reserve team league, but it is an interesting idea.

in the past, players were sent out to a-league teams via a deal the two leagues had agreed upon... that deal has ended and no new one has been agreed upon

however, that isn't that big of a deal, in fact, it's probably a great thing... as it will allow teams to build stronger relationships, which can only be a boon for the players, imo

and a-league teams are going to want these relationships... milwaukee thrived with the fire additions, they helped them to the a-league title

mls teams want their younger players to get minutes, but often mls is too much for them straight out...
