Here's something to discuss. In a league that only allows 18 senior roster players while allowing 6 developmental spots that don't count against roster or salary cap, should the backup GK be a developmental player? I think so. It frees up one more spot for a position player. It also, doesn't hurt the salary cap at a position where the team is ussually only going to use one player all season. Now the draw backs to this is if the Starting GK gets hurt or underperforms. Is the developmental GK ready to step in?
