I agree, not trying to point any fingers at your post. I just want to make the point that the kid is far from done. Just because he's not making a big impact in the Bundesliga as a 19 year old doesn't mean he won't at age 25. Most American prospects his age are in their second year of college soccer.
Fabian has not flamed out yet - I'm not writing him off. Just like Green and Kiesewetter, he's biding his time in the reserves (though I know those guys are younger).
Green is biding his time on Bayern. Kiesewetter is biding his time at Stuttgart Hurzeler is biding his time on the reserve team of a 2.Bundesliga club in the relegation zone.
The difference is Wood for being a BL2 player is getting playing time with us while Morales for being a starter in BL1, hardly gets time with us.
Do you seriously not understand the situation? Wood plays a position of desperate need for the usmnt Morales plays a position that probably has the most depth in the entire usmnt player pool
I like Morales game but in addition to the depth there, I don't know that his style has really fit with the Usmnt yet. Kinda like Johansson.
I think he just means, "Will Parker get time for the US or not?" Which, given his position, is more likely to be yes.
Scored a goal for the reserve team again: http://www.kicker.de/news/fussball/...allescher-fc-4440_1-fsv-mainz-05-ii-4387.html He has 4 goals in 27 appearances for the reserves, plus one short sub appearance in the BL.
Here's a story that pitches Parker as of interest to Moenchengladbach: http://www.90min.com/de/posts/31399...ssia-moenchengladbach-nimmt-us-boy-ins-visier
Another report that says pretty much the same thing: http://www.fussballtransfers.com/bu...-diese-vertrage-laufen-bei-mainz-05-aus_64293
If this ends up happening (the fussballtransfers link makes it seem a little less likely), Jonas Hoffmann's shortcomings will have played a major role in advancing the professional careers of two potential USMNT forwards.
Parker with two goals in his last three matches for Mainz II, now has 6 goals and 5 assists on the season. Not bad production for a winger in the 3.Liga who was 19 yrs old the majority of the season.
After a solid season in 3.Liga with the U23s & making his BL debut Devante Parker agrees a new 3yr deal with Mainz pic.twitter.com/RAb8y3FuXP— Nats Abroad (@Nats_Abroad) May 21, 2016

Am I missing something or is Parker at Mainz the only YA with a possibility of Europa League group stage playing time this year?? http://www.uefa.com/uefaeuropaleagu...opa+league+group+stage+live+draw+seeding+pots
I think you're right unless you count Saief from Gent. Wright and Akale have a tiny chance of cracking the first team this season at S04 and Villarreal too, but that's it.
Parker on Mainz' roster as a "List B" player. http://www.uefa.com/uefaeuropaleague/season=2017/clubs/club=70853/squad/index.html
There would probably be no interest from him? Unlike most German-Americans, his dad has settled in Germany, and Mainz is their home club.
he's not getting first team minutes though, right? ...MLS has had some success recently with reserve team players from big 4 leagues...plus theres the american angle....
He's 20 years old and still highly regarded by Mainz as a player for the future. He recently signed an extension and will be pushing to try to break into the first team. It's a little early to expect a guy like him to be interested in MLS. He's never lived in the US.
He scored a PK against Jahn Regensburg for Mainz II. http://www.kicker.de/news/fussball/...sv-mainz-05-ii-4387_jahn-regensburg-1377.html That's his first goal in 9 games for the 2nd team this season.
