Sadly, I will be OOT on the 25th. We will be leaving early that morning, which pretty much negates any opportunity for me to make the trip down to C-bus on the 24th. Trust me, I have already tried to figure a way out to make the USOC final. I just don't see how to pull it off, yet.

I may be watching this at home all by my lonesome. Hey...Bailey knows what that's like.

anyone showing the Crew match on wednesday? Any chance of SPectadium showing it via pay per view? My Dish TV (ok it is my uncles dish) seems to indicate it will not be shown.

We need to get Mike on this. He seems to have the contacts.

Sucks that the Dish's Shootout package won't show any midweek play off games. Let's hope that next years shootout will be more inclusive.

please post any relevant Crew home game info so I can determine when/if I can drive.

    when are the home games?

    how much are tickets?

will i be able to get a ticket on day of game?

who is interested in riding with me?

I have a van. it is a piece of junk. but it runs. there is no backseat but there is a bed, so you can score on your way there.

    thanks

Well...someone should be able to put that matress to good use. Lord knows it aint goin' to be Bailey. He's too busy punchin' the bishop while the split tail is away.

    Crew vs. SJ; game #2

    Saturday, September 28, 2002

    7:30pm, Crew Stadium

Ticket prices range from $15-$40. Call 1-877-Crewfan for more info.

Unfortunately, I can't make it to this one. With seven games in the next three weeks, I just can't sacrifice an entire Saturday at this time. It is my hope that the Crew will win the series and I can catch their home game in the next series. Before their loss Sunday to the Fire and their despondent fall from second seed to sixth, I had actually considered flying out to see them play in the final in Foxboro. Perhaps I was too ambitious with my thoughts, but I am still hopeful. Keep in touch, Ted.

Are the Bucks going to make a name change in the off season? I thought that was the plan when they moved to Detroit. If so, what should they be called now?

Jim Duggan said in an interview on the show a while back (I don't think it's still in the archive) that they might change the name to MICHIGAN BUCKS...since there's nothing "mid" about D-town....

I definitely won't be attending the Saturday match. And I don't think I am having people over for the game. Maybe Mike and Glenda if they come out.

Detroit Western International High School won their inaugural game with a resounding 3-1 victory over Taylor Baptist Park High School today in Taylor, Michigan. An historic day for the school and for the entire community of southwest Detroit.

Would Detroit even support a soccer team? Do they even have a soccer team? PDL? D3? I know they had a couple of indoor teams, but those have gone the way of the buffalo.

Has MLS ever even mentioned Detroit as a place they'd like to expand to? Soccer isn't the first thing that comes to mind when most people think of Detroit, I think. Auto factories, Detroit RedWings, the Lions sucking every year even with Barry Sanders, maybe. But not soccer.

I can see a team in Detroit working, though, especially if it was marketted as a team for the working class. Somebody should get old Billy Ford to buy an expansion team. You could call it the Detroit Mustangs (a little cross-marketting) and have Ford for the jersey sponsors. Give the Ford employees discounts.

Of course, I'm just a random jackass who lives nowhere near Detroit, so take what I've said with a grain of salt.

Detroit is an ideal market, and the Mid Michigan Bucks (one of the best PDL teams over the years) have recently moved there....

Detroit has been mentioned by Don Garber as one of the main targets for MLS expansion.

The SECOND they give it the thumbs up, my application for employment will be on their desk.

Only a matter of time my friend....

Hey Mike just read the Free Press, congrats on your victory over Baptist Park. Was that your first game of the season? What does your schedule look like. Is the MHSAA going to let you guys play in the district tournament?

Soon to be just Michigan Bucks. And, yes, they get very good support for a 4th division team.

    Also, indoor sucks.

Don Garber mentioned Detroit in one of his State of the League addresses. I don't have time to find the link.

Soccer is a very popular sport around Detroit. Just not in it.

The last thing we want is Billy Ford running our soccer team. Hellooo...do the Lions ring a bell?

    Don't worry. We do.

    Congratulations Mike.

Also, I haven't gotten confirmation on the Crew/San Josehead game. I am getting a bad feeling that it won't be televised.

Yet another reason to really hate San Jose. Any chance we can move them to Detroit and leave Landon "Don't touch me" Donovan back there with the rest of the fruits and nuts?
