Is there still any talk about converting Tiger Stadium into an SSS? Is it still structurally sound to do so? If it is possible, that would be incredible!

No its being fully demolished. They might save a small section for a museum though. Still being worked out.

City council did approve the plans for the Ernie Harwell museum that will be at the corner of MI and Trumble with a small patch of the field to remain.

Also, the stick figures are tough to decipher man!

I took the minutes, and will type them up tomorrow. Sorry, I won't have time before then.

I'll post them here, unless anyone can think of a good reason not to.

Might be a good chance to drive traffic to a placeholder website like leaguelineup.com/detroitmls (then go back and change the appendage later or just point a domain forwarding site to it) to gauge interest.

Also, it appears that MLS has setup a formal bidding deadline for the forseeable future.

That was a great meeting yesterday. I think we're definitely off to a good start.

By the way, to everyone on this message board, I am compiling an e-mail directory for those who are interested in being a part of the Motor City Supporters. This will provide another means to keep everyone informed of special information, upcoming events, etc. for the group. Please message me with your name & e-mail address if you would like to be a part of this directory. Thanks!

They seem like a group of people that would be great for our group. They are passionate and dedicated. We can contact them prior to our next get together and see if they are interested in coming out. Keep up the good work Craig.

So is there a next meeting planned?

We could have the next meeting in conjunction with a college soccer game. Oakland U has three games planned at Ultimate Soccer Arenas; the best of those for me is Saturday, September 27. So, how about meeting at 5:30 or 6:00 at "the Ult," then watch the OU game at 7?

We should also know by the 27th, if any expansion group is going to submit a bid package to the league by the October 15 date.

(BTW, I have a lot of video shoots coming up in Sept/Oct, especially football games on Fridays, but some Tues/Thursdays, also.)

I also compiled a lot of college schedule stuff at the USL-D page

I think we decided for now that we are going to do the Columbus road trip and than go from there on meeting times. Hitting up an Oakland game may not be a bad idea but I don't know if that will be the next meeting, I'm sure we will have a few more between that time.

Also I'm pretty sure we all realize that Detroit will not be submitting a bid by the October 15th date, and that it may be some time before a Detroit bid is even put together. That really isn't in our control, what is in our control is to show a potential owner the fan base that is here.

And, scratch me for the C'bus trip (I probably wasn't on your list anyway, just confirming that). Got a wedding to attend that day.

    Hey guys,

Have the meeting minutes not been posted? Or have I missed them? No rush, just want to see a recap of what went down at the meeting.
