Mediocre second half PSV played very poorly in the second half. PSV played out the match at half strength, but was especially lucky that it faced perhaps the worst team in the Eredivisie. Heracles had the necessary opportunities to make it 1-3, but missed chance after chance. On the other side, chances were scarce. Ricardo Pepi hardly got the ball and played an anonymous game.
I was going to put on the Leeds game, but this is more exciting. Anyone know if it goes to ET or PKs in event of a tie at full time??
NEC throw away a chance to seal the game when Mauro Jr got caught in possession and allowed a 1v1 with the keeper.
Esmir hasn't been particularly great since coming on. Dude likes the dribble in circles a lil too much.
the commentator keeps glazing NEC's performance, repeatedly talking about how much a cup final would mean to the club and its fans, seemingly unaware that they were in the cup final 2 seasons ago (23/24)?
Oh yeah, no, this outcome is remarkable, but normally when a commentator is talking like this, its because the club in question haven't been to a final in decades (if ever). I was very surprised to see NEC was in the final as recently as 2024. I think what he was actually remarking on is the fact that NEC upset PSV en route this time, but kept talking about it in very general terms (eg. "for PSV, this would be just another final, but for NEC it would be incredible")
Maybe to you it's an upset result, but from the clubs in the Eredivisie this season I only gave NEC a bigger chance to win the confrontation with PSV than PSV beating NEC. My rating for NEC beating PSV this season was 60% vs 40% PSV beating NEC. NEC simply has a very well clicking mix of players, experienced and talents, managed by an excellent coach.
