I see from the Arsenal America website, there are chapters of the supporters club set up in some of the northern cities. Any reds out there in Miami or South Florida for that matter? Have tried out the Playwright and heard about Churchills but wondered whether there was any other soccermania going on in this neck of the woods or whether we could get some going... Americans, in the main, just don't seem to understand the beautiful game.
Churchill's blows in that the place smells like puke on Saturday mornings after the late night Friday shows. Playwright is ok, but they're iffy as well in that you never know what they're going to show. I was relatively dissapointed with the Miami options to watch Arsenal.
When I am in south Florida, which is generally centred around the Fort Myers area and Tampa, I have found great difficulty in getting to see the Arsenal games anywhere, so am "desparate" to find somewhere and someone to watch them with! Open to suggestions. Next visit during the 2004/05 season will be over Xmas and New Year, so there will be game to watch...."Somewhere"!! (I hope!). Jeff.
Thanks guys - I appreciate the response and you've confirmed pretty much what I thought. I was suspecting that I and another Arsenal fan who relocated with me were the sum total but at least I have a mission to get something going by the time Jeff touches base in the US again! Doesn't bode well that the local team Fusion disbanded - so not a big soccer territory in any respect. They watch a lot of Jai Alai whatever that is...
