He has 156 minutes in the Eredivisie in the last 3 seasons.

An MLS team would be able to offer him more (they'd be required to, the minimum salary is $63,000). The question is whether any MLS team would want to offer him that given how little he has done in his career.

Useful info for those who still don't get that bottom half of Eredivisie is sub MLS level and Eerste is USL 1.

TBF, Emmen would be thrilled to be consistently "bottom half" of the Ered...

At the same time, like all small country leagues with good/decent "top" teams, yeah, you ain't gonna get a dozen Ajax/Celtic/Portos out of those finances.

  6. Emmen has two Peru national team players, a PSG academy player, a Swiss national team player, Danish U21 nat. team player, a Sweden U21/nat. team player, former Belgian U18 player, former U19 Orange player, former German U17 player, former Orange U18 player, former Orange U18 player, former Croatia U21 player, former Orange U21 player, Czech U21 player.

This is a typical selection of the lower clubs.

  8. Just one of the examples in our second tier:

And another example of top clubs now sending their defenders to the Dutch leagues to learn how to defend.

  9. Why would they murder them?
Because they know how to play top teams/quality teams not available in the mls.

Bruh, pretty sure Emmen got spanked by Ajax, AZ, even Feyenoord last year - I think they tied PSV, but PSV last year was crap.

No idea how they'd do against any MLS team, and they were very good by historical Emmen standards last year, but I think they still lost to NAC, Mainz, Fortuna as well as most Ered sides...

Well, that's just a sad reflection on the 3 and 4th place Ered teams...

Now do Ajax and AZ! (And Twente, Utrecht, Cambuur and Hercules - 'veen couldn't do squat, however.)

In 19/20 Emmen gave up 3+ goals to: Ajax, Sparta (!), Cambuur, NAC, Feynie (2x!), AZ, Twente, Zwolle, Utrecht, Groningen (and only played Ajax and a few others once) which I only post to show how absolute crap the lightbulbs really were.

    Lol.

FC Emmen's season starts this weekend, and still no announcement on whether Desevio has been re-signed. Also hasn't appeared in last two friendlies. Perhaps he was let loose.

Payne on the bench today for Emmen's season opener. So it appears he has been resigned, though no official announcement.

    Didn't play in a 5-3 loss.

The winner was an own goal from the Emmen left back in the 90th minute, and they conceded again in stoppage time.

7 of the game's 8 goals were scored in the second half.

  17. Think it has to do with the corona hampered preparation for the new season. I think many players arenot yet fit enough to play the full 90 minutes like they normally do.
